The debut self-titled single from Transcending Into The Unknown is a unique collaboration of family members who share the same musical skill, yet slightly different.

Now imagine a band of 3 family members with different musical backgrounds and different musical taste coming together to produce a song, can you imagine the variety of the sounds, a single song that you can hear some blues rock to metal and progressive rock.

“Transcending Into the Unknown” is a family made up of 2 brothers and a son – Filip Dahl, Stian Dahl and Robert Dahl a Norwegian family gifted with an immersive love for guitar.

A guitar-based instrumental track with elements of progressive rock, metal, and blues rock, “Transcending Into the Unknown” crosses genres. Since each guitarist has a unique tone and style, it is simple to discern between the guitar solos played by Filip (from 0:00 to 00:56), Stian (from 02:10 to 02:49), and Robert (from 02:50 to 03:25).

After taking a hiatus from music production for a long time talented multi-instrumentalist Filip Dahl, combined his musical powers with his two other relatives although his style is way different from the rest, yet he transcends into the unknown and dives deeper to fish out such a breath-taking sound.

“Transcending Into the Unknown” has 3 distinct solo, Filip starts with the opening, followed by Stian who picked up the guitar at an early stage of his life, Stian was heavily influenced by blues and rock, and this shamelessly brandish in his solo.

Robert Dahl who was the frontman for the 80’s band Ack-Ack, gave Transcending Into the Unknown a befitting end. Robert Dahl draws inspiration from music styles such as thrash metal, doom and stoner rock, as well as blues and even jazz

What was the role of music in the early years of your life?
Escape, solitude, and peace.

Are you from a musical or artistic family?
Well, my mother could sing, my father tried his hand at songwriting and my brother and I started out in the school band together.

Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?
Prince!

How did you learn to sing/write/to play?
First by listening and imitating artists that I like. That lead to me being serious about it and practice.

What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?
That was at a festival, Southern Heritage in Birmingham, Alabama.

How could you describe your music?
I describe it as neo-hip hop. I am influenced by all of the artists I listen to. Some of the earlier rap artists include, Kool Moe Dee, Rakim, Public Enemy and MC Shan.

Describe your creative process.
I have a simple process. I listen. If I compose the music first, I sit back, listen and ask, what is it saying. The same goes for receiving the idea or the inspiration first.

What is your main inspiration?
My main inspiration is life! Inspiration is all around us.

What musician do you admire most and why?

Prince! Alive, Bruno Mars. Both are highly talented and creative.

Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?

Yes
Who do you see as your main competitor?

Honestly, I don’t see anyone as a competitor. I just keep improving myself and keep moving.

What are your interests outside of music?

Old school cars.

If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?

Coaching sports or antique car restoration.

What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?
Being everything. As an indie artist, especially starting out, you have to do everything yourself.

If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?

I would make it fair for the artists and the label.

The lockdown in 2020 was a major turning point for bandleader and composer of Ruud Voesten. He seized the moment to delve deeper into the infamous literary work of Dante Alighieri’s Inferno.

Inferno is the first part of Italian writer Dante Alighieri’s 14th-century epic poem Divine Comedy. It is followed by Purgatory and Paradiso. The Inferno describes Dante’s journey through Hell, guided by the ancient Roman poet Virgil.

Thereafter Inferno became his main driving force and this necessitated him to review his personal connection to the capital sins. Reflecting on themes like lust, anger, and betrayal brought him a wide range of connections, motives, and emotions that he put to music.

This really inspired him to an extent it influenced his upcoming album which is slated to be released in September 2023, the first single off the album is what I have to share with you, he chose a perfect title to inform the listener of the incoming message.

The single was titled Clickbait Merchants and was inspired by the Ring of Fraud, usually from misleading information people put out just to get our attention in other to sell something else. Usually, the word Clickbait refers to the online press.

They appeal to our emotions by utilizing deceptive, inaccurate, and provocative language in their advertisements. The well-written text captures the erratic but anxious nature of these headlines. unpredictable, a touch irritable, and attention-seeking.

Although Clickbait Merchants has no lyrics, the instrumentation speaks volumes, by the help of other musicians Ruud Voesten was able to create a masterpiece. Recording and mixing by Micha de Kanter, Mastering by Wessel Oltheten at the Fattoria Musica studio (DE)
