"Meet LÖNA: The Twins Behind Dark Electro Pop Music"

‘LÖNA’ is a fast-rising musical duo whose sole purpose is to create electro pop music and share their emotions with the rest of the world. Join me as we dig deeper into the lives of Madelon and Danielle, the twin sisters who make up this unique musical act.

We began by asking them about the reason behind choosing their stage name, and their response was interesting, they explained that ‘Löna’ is a Swedish word that means “valuable,” and it gives their name a Scandinavian touch, something that can point to their root.

They continued to say,

“Our songs are a reflection of our personal lives – real and heartfelt. They’re our experiences and raw emotions. And we get inspired by any dark and melancholic sounds or music.”

When asked about the main inspiration behind their latest single “Game” they said:

“Our latest song is called ‘Game.’ It’s a metaphor for dating, akin to a game of poker. Just like in the game, dating can be fun, sometimes someone’s bluffing, and it’s equally capable of yielding big wins or painful losses. Drawing this parallel adds an intriguing layer to the song’s narrative.

‘LÖNA’ had a lot to share with their fans and their final message to their fans is touching and inspiring, you can tell this duo has their fans at heart now join us as we delve deeper into the lives of the duo and who they really are outside music

What is your stage name?
LÖNA

Is there a story behind your stage name?
We wanted a name with a Scandinavian ring, resonating with the dark, haunting beauty of the Scandinavian landscapes. “löna” means “valuable” in Swedish, which adds a touch of significance.

Where do you find inspiration?
Our songs are a reflection of our personal lives – real and heartfelt. They’re our experiences and raw emotions. And we get inspired by any dark and melancholic sounds or music.

What was the role of music in the early years of your life? / Are you from a musical or artistic family?
We’re twins who grew up in a home where music was always playing, though we didn’t have any musical family members. We both started piano lessons at the age of 9, and Danielle picked up the guitar at 14 and we then both started the beginning of our songwriting journey. And when Danielle, at 15, cracked Logic Pro X, a software for music production, her producing talent flourished.

Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?
We draw our inspiration from the darker, more electronic side of music. Artists like BANKS, Sevdaliza, Lana Del Rey, Tove Lo, and AURORA have a profound impact on us. We aim to express our feelings and experiences through our music, connecting with our audience on a deeper level.

How did you learn to sing/write/to play?
Our musical journey began with classical piano lessons at the tender age of 9. Danielle later added a guitar to the mix, and that’s when we started writing our own songs. We learned by doing, by simply diving headfirst into the world of sound and expression.

Our musical journey began with classical piano lessons at the tender age of 9

What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?
We think our first real concert experience was Laura Jansen’s performance at Paradiso in Amsterdam when we were around 14 years old.

How would you describe your music?
We like to call it “dark electro pop.” It’s a fusion of pop songs with electronic beats and a touch of darkness and melancholy that defines our unique sound.

Describe your creative process.
Typically, it all starts with Madelon, who often has a melody and lyrics swirling in her head. These lyrics are drawn from real-life encounters and experiences. She then sits down at the computer, starts writing, finding the right chords and rhythm. Once the song is taking shape, it’s passed on to Danielle, who adds different instruments and sound, and voila – a LÖNA song is born!

What is your main inspiration?
Life itself is our main muse. The ups and downs, the joy and sorrow – all of it feeds into our music. And also inequality is a topic we write about.

What musician do you admire most and why?
Thom Yorke is a towering figure in our admiration list. His exceptional voice and the ethereal compositions of Radiohead have a captivating effect. Their ever-evolving sound and ability to touch the soul with every album are truly inspiring.

Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?
Most definitely! Our musical journey started with acoustic singer-songwriter tunes, morphed into rock when we joined bands, ventured into psychedelic rock, and finally found our niche in dark electro pop. We’ve even swapped some human elements for the electronic beats, except for our live performances.

Who do you see as your main competitor?
It’s hard to pinpoint a direct competitor. We’re crafting a unique blend of music that doesn’t have many direct parallels. It’s a bit like BANKS and AURORA, they also write their names in caps ;), so perhaps they could be our friendly rivals!

What are your interests outside of music?
Madelon has a talent for fashion and designs her own clothing when she’s not immersed in music.

If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?
Music will always be our passion. We’d likely be working in the music industry, helping other musicians bring their art to life.

What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?
Sexism in the music industry is a significant challenge, casting shadows on the creative process and equal opportunities for all. Luckily, it is certainly not a lot of our experience, but things do happen too often.

Why did you choose this as the title of this project?

Our latest song is called ‘Game.’ It’s a metaphor for dating, akin to a game of poker. Just like in the game, dating can be fun, sometimes someone’s bluffing, and it’s equally capable of yielding big wins or painful losses. Drawing this parallel adds an intriguing layer to the song’s narrative.

What are your plans for the coming months?
In the coming months, we’re planning to release several more songs, taking it slow and steady. By the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025, we aim to drop a full album.

What message would you like to give to your fans?
Embrace your uniqueness! You can enjoy dark music and still lead a happy, fulfilling life. Stay true to yourself and let our music be a part of your extraordinary journey.

'Leonardo the Space Pianist' Takes Us To Space With His Ethereal Sound 'Chrysalis'

Guys I found a masterpiece and it would be unfair on my part if I don’t introduce Chrysalis by Leonardo the Space Pianist to you, I am sure you are wondering why anybody would want to call themself a space pianist, hold on tight because I am going to share with the reason.

What is your stage name
Leonardo the Space Pianist

Is there a story behind your stage name?

I am a pianist and an aerospace engineer! My music went to Space already twice, next year will go onboard the International Space Station for the third time with the ASTROBEAT project and I am working every day on the Dream I had when I was 12 years old, playing the piano being in Space.

Where do you find inspiration?

From the Universe and studying it in its different forms.

What was the role of music in the early years of your life?

I discovered my passion for music and the piano when I was 6 years old. I created my first compositions when I was 7 years old, since then I never stopped. My mantra is Nullo die sine nota, not a day without a note. Music definitely is shaping me in becoming who I was.

Are you from a musical or artistic family?

No, but my father is really passionate about music and was fundamental in inspiring me to start playing the piano when I was a kid.

Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?

Jordan Rudess, Dream Theater’s keyboardist and a world-class artist that I consider one of my Mentors.

How did you learn to sing/write/to play?

I have a classical background, I got my degree at the Music Conservatory in Italy, I studied also composition for few years and the experience on stage and studying by myself taught me a lot during my journey.

I have a classical background, I got my degree at the Music Conservatory in Italy,

What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?

I don’t really remember, I was too young.
The first one I have memory of is probably the concert of the classical pianist Filippo Gamba, winner of the ‘Premio Venezia’ piano competition, when I was 6-7 years old, so in 1990 I guess.

How could you describe your music?

I can describe it as…space-y! It has cinematic vibes, often experimental/avant-garde and with a nuance of melancholy.

Describe your creative process.

It is very difficult to summarize in few words, since it is a…process. Multi-layered, with a constellation of parameters constantly changing. The human soul is extremely variable and this influences everything we create.
Everything can be a source of inspiration that later on is filtered and processed into a ‘final product’, but at the same time I can say that not necessarily you need something or someone to inspire you to create something from zero.

What is your main inspiration?

Space and the legacy of huge Artists.

What musician do you admire most and why?

S. Bach, because he is the Immortal God of Harmony (cit.) and he will never die.

Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career? Of course…and a lot! It would be impossible the opposite during the artistic journey.

Who do you see as your main competitor?

Probably Son Goku.

What are your interests outside of music?

I do not perceive something as ‘outside’ my interest for music and space, I perceive everything connected, like: freediving, photography and videography, Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?

If I wasn’t building my own path as the Space Pianist, probably I would have done the time traveller.

What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?

The human nature and untuned pianos.

If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?

Higher streaming royalties, i.e. having a more equitable and fair system for artists. Implementing a more transparent and artist-friendly compensation system, where artists are fairly paid for their work, would empower more musicians, above independent artists.

Why did you choose this as the title of this project?

My new release is a story of resilience, a space music composition that depicts the concept of a Chrysalis, a vessel for transformation, through a vivid musical landscape.
Imagine a dimly lit stage adorned with a mysterious cocoon, barely discernible in the soft glow. The sounds evoke the cocoon’s nascent awakening.
Recorded on the ethereal Zanta ZB 200 grand piano, literally a “space piano” for its refined sound and aesthetic qualities, this composition takes on a journey of profound metamorphosis.

What are your plans for the coming months?

I will be working in developing further my main project ‘Music from Space’, starting with the upcoming mission to Space, ASTROBEAT.

Do you have any artistic collaboration plans.

Nothing is fully defined for the new year yet, I recently collaborated with a dancer and aerial artist for the release ‘Holo Black’ and probably I will work on a project to disseminate Space history knowledge with a TV journalist. Besides this I will mainly focus on structuring important collaborations in the field of space art for the ASTROBEAT mission.

What message would you like to give to your fans?

Do your part to move the statistical average of the human race from ugly to awesome and look up there.

Chandra Urges Us To “Smile” In His New Single

Chandra Urges Us To “Smile” In His New Single
Chandra Urges Us To “Smile” In His New Single

Alright, let’s dig into Chandra’s recent single “Smile (No Fox Gibbon)”. Following the success of “Pretty”, they return to grace our ears with an indie rock/pop number that hits a lot out of the ballpark. Harnessing his signature male vocals, it exudes this infectious upbeat energy that can’t help but pull you in.

Kicking off on a high note, it tosses us headfirst into vibrant riffs and buoyant drumming which sets the tone for what one would call an absolute banger. The track is certainly a wonderful example of confetti-filled ode to self-expression and individuality, prompting listeners to shed inhibitions like snakeskin… with far less hissing hopefully!

The beauty here lies in its simplicity – no needless flares or frills, just plain good music remnant of old school rock-pop infused with 90’s rock sensibilities. This seamless blend provides that feel-good aura every listener craves from time-to-time.

Vocally too there isn’t anything left wanting. Chandra envelops us within coils of confident yet charming tones showing he’s got the vocal chops down pat while connecting emotionally to his audience through those soothing cadences and earnest inflections.

“Smile (No Fox Gibbons)” is effortlessly easy-going while managing to keep your foot tapping throughout – Now THAT’S worth celebrating! Its production crispness amplifies without overshadowing other elements painting quite vividly how much thought has gone behind each element placement: truly admirable & rare these days where overproduction tends often steal focus from raw talent… looking at you modern pop industry!

All-in-all if this tantalizing taste was any indication as we eagerly await more from Chandra’s arsenal—rest assured—it will be dished hot ‘n’ occurring regularly on most playlists I reckon; So buckle-up mate! Refreshingly real Indie magic coming up to brighten days.

Dici Sings About The 'Hole In My Heart'

“Hole in my heart,” just like the title of the song, “Dici” pens down heartfelt lyrics that steeps down into your soul to tickle the loneliness deep inside you.

With 7 release this year, the Miami-raised half-Japanese artist ‘Dici’ has topped it up with a pop ballad mixed with hiphop, to make it his 8th song for the year “Hole in my heart”. This song isn’t just about the beats, it goes beyond that, this song speaks volumes and reeks of emotions.

Because the lyrics are relatable, and loneliness is a feeling we have all faced one way or the other, so a theme such as this elates the listening experience.

“Dici” is currently aiming at being one of the best musical artiste and most sought after, I think this an achievable feat because with songs like, you can tell he is on that path and sooner that expected.

He really outdid himself with this song, he chose the right instrumentation for the song, although the lyrics are nostalgic and melancholic, the drum licks keeps you nodding and before you realize.

Dici has really outdone himself, listening to the song you can feel the emotions behind the song, not just some recital, his vocals are clear and ear-pleasing that heightens the listening experience.

One part of Hole in my heart is the instrumentations, not only does it compliment the lyrics and the artists voice but it has a mix of melancholy and same time some hip-hop vibes

This is a song that you can jam to when alone, same time when hanging out with friends.

Paul Crupi's "Home": A Sentimental Journey of Family and Music

Diving into Paul Crupi’s album “Home” feels like stepping through the door of a cherished family reunion – sentimental, warm and profoundly personal. It’s clear this songwriter has been honing his craft for over 15 years, fusing the vital spirit of soft rock with soothing synth backdrops.

From generously uplifting anthems to deeper introspective journeys, Home is an emotional kaleidoscope brought alive by Crupi’s earnest male vocal performance. His dedication as a father illuminates every track; each song stands as a testament to his eternal love and empowerment for his two daughters. It’s far from your typical lullaby collection though – think more Springsteen coaching at Little League draped in the comforting aura of James Taylor.

The general theme revolves around gratitude towards familial bliss – but its ripple effect extends beyond that realm. A particular charm lies within its relatability: making pancakes on weekends or staying up late watching movies – spinning mundane instances into soul-stirring epics that fans across any demographic could relate to.

Dax Impresses Again With "To Be A Man" ft. Darius Rucker

In Dax’s “To Be A Man” remix, the strong melding of soul, rap and a surprising twist of country creates an electrifying sonic landscape. The tinge of piano weaves an atmosphere that sets the stage for profound lyrical storytelling.

Encapsulating societal notions of masculinity, “To Be A Man” does more than just talk about expectations and pressures; it gives men a rallying cry to remain stoic yet empathetic in the face of adversity. Not many artists venture down this path, but then again, Dax isn’t ‘many artists’.

Dax Impresses Again With “To Be A Man” ft. Darius Rucker

This remix is a powerful return after his critically-acclaimed album “What Is Life.” While staying true to its lyrical genius, the track injects new vitality thanks largely to featured artist Darius Rucker whose velvety vocals seamlessly blend into the mix. It’s like sipping whiskey with a dash of honey – an unexpected combination that works.

Dax’s flow on this track is hypnotic; his rhymes hook you in while delivering hammer-like truths in poetic fashion. The overall aura exhibits what one could aptly term as ‘Soul Rap’: raw emotiveness coupled with captivating rhythm propelling every lyric forward.

Ultimately, Dax’s “To Be A Man” addresses social discourse without sacrificing musicality ensuring its relevancy beyond current times while guaranteeing enjoyment each play through. If such scholarly approach to music was always this funky and heartfelt… sign me up for that class! Music lovers – pack your attention spans because they’re going on one heck of a journey with this tune!

Benedict Sinister’s “Only Sixteen”: A Raw Musical Memory Trip

"Benedict Sinister's 'Only Sixteen': A Raw Musical Memory Trip"
"Benedict Sinister's 'Only Sixteen': A Raw Musical Memory Trip"

Some wise person once mentioned, “Music is what gives us memories.” This holds true for Benedict Sinister’s new single, “Only Sixteen”, a slightly sad but captivating take on the Italian rap song “Autostima” by the young guys, Psicologi. Imagine Michelangelo painting the Sistine Chapel to a beat drop!

Sinister prepares us for his relaxing trip right from the start, turning old memories into cool art in this “emo rap meets Adele” type song. The music itself is different and calming, asking listeners to pick up a piece of past heartbreak and look at it through rich electronic sounds and gentle drum patterns.

And we can’t miss the exciting part – Sinister’s spoken word performance. It guides you through a teenage heartbreak story like a moody Morgan Freeman narration, creating a painting with words alone. This style adds a lovely touch of rawness… a brave honesty that makes Sinister an exciting artist to watch.

"Benedict Sinister's 'Only Sixteen': A Raw Musical Memory Trip"
“Benedict Sinister’s ‘Only Sixteen’: A Raw Musical Memory Trip”

The combination of slick sound design with those slow spoken words sparks a lot of feelings! Talking about emotional back and forth – Sinister’s song got me wishing for some teen drama but then again happy my bad skin days are over!

To wrap it up – “Only Sixteen” is like music that tells the truth, carefully made to help you remember stuff you never knew you forgot! So grab your most comfy chair – or floor (we don’t judge), turn down the lights and get lost into these waves of growth from past love! And remember – He’s not just Benedict Sinister; he’s Benedict ‘Awesome’ Sinister from now on!

Clio Cadence Out With "Innocence (Acoustic Version)"

Very few artists have the skill to draw out feeling from music and words like rising star, Clio Cadence. Her alternative acoustic rock single “Innocence (Acoustic Version)” fits this description perfectly.

The song beats with a catchy rhythm as she reveals a deep and poetic story written in a dreamy moonlit graveyard. Talk about ghostly inspiration!

Cadence’s singing is nothing less than engaging – it showcases power, belief, and a real vulnerability that pulls you into her ghostly world. More than just a singer-songwriter, Cadence’s got the spark; she’s a skilled artist turning regular experiences into captivating sound treasures.

Pulling from rich acoustic sounds and simple soundscapes, “Innocence” has the charm to enchant listeners out there – ironically stripping them of their ‘innocence’. The production stands out not by being loud or flashy but quiet, allowing Clio’s voice to be fully heard.

In essence (no pun intended), the real victory here is in Clio Cadence’s total control of her skill and voice. Simple but powerful in its delivery – “Innocence (Acoustic Version)” turns serious heartache into something extremely beautiful, perhaps diamond-like.

It leaves you eagerly waiting for what else lies within the charming artist that is Clio Cadence… after all moonlit graveyards are often sources of unending stories!

Midwave Breaks’ “Stonewall”: A Nostalgic and Refreshing Anthem

Midwave Breaks' "Stonewall": A Nostalgic and Refreshing Anthem
Midwave Breaks' "Stonewall": A Nostalgic and Refreshing Anthem

Strike up the band, friends, grab your air guitars and prepare to chant in wide open fields or stuffy school halls, because Midwave Breaks’ new single ‘Stonewall’ is here and it’s a rousing treat. Not only does this New Zealand duo offer a solidly upbeat classic rock anthem, but also an all-round instant crowd-pleaser – an almost forgotten ’90s flair brought to life with the bang of a drum.

‘Stonewall’ feels as though it could impel even the most rhythmically inhibited among us into moving our bodies. Invoking memories of headlining festival performances and smoky clubs—the lead singer-songwriter-guitarist Bruce Conlon commands your attention like a purposeful pied piper. His warm, resonant male vocals lend themselves beautiful to a sing-along chorus so catchy; it may end up living free-rent in your cerebellum long after you’ve unpacked your festival gear.

The real heart-racing home-hitter though is Drummer Paul Russell. He drives this anthemic banger forward at near breakneck speed—and if his recount of “Stonewall”‘s unconventional origin won’t have you rolling down memory lane, I don’t know what will! This infectious tune was serendipitously birthed from simple domestic duty—a reluctant one translated swiftly into cleverly quippy lyrics.

Midwave Breaks' "Stonewall": A Nostalgic and Refreshing Anthem
Midwave Breaks’ “Stonewall”: A Nostalgic and Refreshing Anthem

That’s where the true strength of this indie pairing shines—his deft rhythmic percussive touch coupled with Conlon’s lyrical balladry showcasing complexities within simplicities are why Midwave Breaks ought to be on everyone’s playlist. It’s no stretch to say that if John Bonham jammed with Billy Joel in Bob Dylan’s basement, ‘Stonewall’ might well be the wildly successful offspring!

In short, folks—interrupting pop-up pool maintenance and transforming them into rock-‘n’-roll diamonds isn’t your everyday musical aspiration, but in Midwave Breaks’ case—it’s no doubt a task they’ve nailed to the ‘T’. Time may tell if we could hear more like this from this Kiwi twosome. Meanwhile, pop on those headphones or crank up your car stereos—and treat yourself to a ride along this crafted wave of feel-good nostalgia with ‘Stonewall.’

**What is your stage name?**

My stage name is Kmalectro – and forgive the initial simplicity of my answer; I’m not accustomed to interviews. But I promise to bring more depth to my responses as we go on.

**Is there a story behind your stage name?**

Kmalectro derives its roots from the word “Kamal,” which means perfection in my language. However, I find myself far from perfection. In our context, “You’ve achieved Kamal” implies that you’ve accomplished something special, a form of art. Given my upbringing around electricity and my belief that our lives are inherently tied to currents and voltage – even our muscles function at -70 millivolts at rest – it’s a fitting moniker. In essence, it represents the fusion of various electronic elements, from the E-Guitar to synthesizers and beyond.

**Where do you find inspiration?**

Inspiration flows from every facet of life, from interactions with friends and fellow humans to the melodies that echo through the radio and the vast realm of the internet. Today, I’m elated to have the opportunity to embark on a social media journey, where I can share my true self and where I come from.

**What was the role of music in the early years of your life?**

Music was a source of comfort during my early years when material wealth was scarce. In my homeland, we dined on the floor using our hands, so our needs were modest – just pots, rice, and some other essentials. That’s how I grew up, surrounded by a colorful tapestry of people – Africans, Italians, Indians, Afghans, Russians, and more – all living together happily in an asylum neighborhood.

We shared laughter and enjoyed live music in the evenings, with nothing but a sitar, tabla, and makeshift sound-producing spoons. This is where my musical roots lie, in finding joy with so little. In essence, true happiness that cannot be bought; because you cannot buy ‘nothing.’ We didn’t need material riches; all we required was community and love. This spirit reflects in my music and aligns with my professional life, where I support individuals when they are in physical distress.

**Are you from a musical or artistic family?**

While my family isn’t inherently musical, they’ve always supported my artistic pursuits. My great cousin, Ahmad Wall, is a hidden gem of an artist, and many others within the family have artistic talents they never had the courage to reveal. Nevertheless, music was always cherished in our household because it bridged laughter and tears, binding us together in harmony.

**Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?**

My inspiration to join the music industry was driven by an inherent passion for the art itself and the belief that music possesses a unique power to connect people on a profound level. Although I was initially apprehensive about diving into the industry, I now relish the fact that I can create music independently. The music industry often prioritizes profit over artists, neglecting to compensate the creative minds behind the music.

**How did you learn to sing/write/to play?**

I am mostly self-taught. While I receive guitar lessons, I’ve also learned to play the tabla from two talented Ustads who mentored me. My cousin was a strict teacher, and his guidance compelled me to practice daily, honing my skills.

**What was the first concert that you ever went to, and who did you see perform?**

My earliest concert experiences were marked by Afghan and Indian music. However, it was my father’s heartfelt rendition of a sad song that remains etched in my memory. Even today, the sorrow in his voice resonates, reminding me of his feelings for his homeland and the world’s collective sadness. Such songs are not just music but a means to cope and vent emotions.

**How could you describe your music?**

Describing my music is a complex endeavor, as I am still discovering my unique sound. It’s experimental and multifaceted, with each new track representing a distinct facet of my creative journey. My upcoming songs, which I hope will be well-received, revolve around life’s experiences. It’s important to me that my music resonates with people, offering them a sense of connection and emotion. Each song I create must touch me deeply at some point; otherwise, it doesn’t make the cut.

**Describe your creative process.**

My creative process is akin to a voyage of exploration. It commences with a concept or a particular emotion, and from there, both the music and visuals flow organically. The process mirrors the intricacies of the digital age, which is ever-evolving and filled with layers waiting to be peeled back.

**What is your main inspiration?**

My primary inspirations are my friends, fellow humans, and the reflections within myself. I find inspiration within the challenging conversations I have with myself.

**What musician do you admire most and why?**

I hold deep admiration for musicians who are a one-person powerhouse – legends like George Michael, Prince, Alanis Morissette, David Bowie, and Michael Jackson. These artists inspire me because they were not only exceptional in their talents but also because they managed their entire creative process single-handedly, demonstrating true genius.

**Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?**
Absolutely, my style has evolved over time. It has become more eclectic, embracing a wide array of musical influences. It’s a continuous process of growth, and my upcoming track will introduce a fresh sound while staying true to my artistic essence.

**Who do you see as your main competitor?**
I don’t perceive fellow musicians as competitors. The music industry is vast and diverse, offering a stage for each artist to shine brightly – like a radiant diamond.

**What are your interests outside of music?**
Beyond music, I have a profound passion for games, indulging in movies of all kinds, and, of course, dogs! I’m an avid reader, and I relish meaningful conversations – yes, talking is a hobby. I also find joy in listening, not just to music but to the stories people share.

**If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?**
My musical journey is just beginning, and I can’t make a living from it yet. Therefore, I continue my work as an osteopath, physiotherapist, and trainer, with a focus on trauma patients. My music is sustained by these roles, as it doesn’t generate substantial income. For instance, even with 700,000 video views, the earnings remain modest.

In reality, we can only survive and thrive by securing consistent support and building a community. This is vital for small artists, as it ensures we can create and remain afloat, offering more than just our music – an evolving narrative that others find captivating.

**What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?**
One of the most significant challenges I’ve faced is the overwhelming presence of record companies and individuals incessantly peddling playlist placements. This can be quite frustrating, especially when many seek to sell followers and subscribers. It’s a detriment to the industry as it can obstruct genuine connections with real people.

Consequently, I’ve always been hesitant to invest large sums in such promotions. While advertising is essential, it must be balanced to ensure that our music can be heard by authentic listeners. Buying followers is a fallacy; organic growth is the only meaningful approach. It’s a substantial issue for independent artists.

**If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?**
If I had the power to make one change in the music industry, it would be to ensure that artists receive a more equitable share of the revenue. They are the ones who change the world and introduce innovative ideas. Without artists, there is no future.

Being an artist is akin to being a philosopher – we all have our unique insights to share, and our smaller voices deserve to be heard just as much as the established ones. Let’s not underestimate the potential of smaller artists and appreciate the diverse spectrum of talent that exists.

**Why did you choose this as the title of this project?**
The title of this project, “Digital Highway,” mirrors my journey in merging a deep love for music with a profound exploration of the digital age. It’s a reflection of the evolving landscape we find ourselves in and the opportunities it presents.

**What are your plans for the coming months?**
In the months ahead, I’m excited to release new tracks, including “SAVE ME,” which holds a special place in my heart. Additionally, I’ll be introducing an EDM track and another one that delves into independent electronic territory. There’s a lot to look forward to on this musical journey.

**Do you have any artistic collaboration plans?**
At the moment, I don’t have any concrete artistic collaboration plans, but I’m open to the possibility. Who knows, maybe I’ll join forces with Tonee Jukebox in the near future.

**What message would you like to give to your fans?**
To all my fans, I’d like to express my deep gratitude. Your support is the driving force behind my creative journey. Keep embracing the music, keep sharing the emotions, and let’s continue this incredible adventure together. Thank you for being an integral part of my musical odyssey!

Tana’s “Face Value”: A Bold Ode to Self-Love and Societal Scrutiny

Tana's “Face Value”: A Bold Ode to Self-Love and Societal Scrutiny
Tana's “Face Value”: A Bold Ode to Self-Love and Societal Scrutiny

“Face Value”, the latest release by powerhouse Tana, feels like an aural filleting of societal superficiality. Couched comfortably in this trap-infused banger is a resonating message of self-love and defiance against baseless judgement – talk about sub-Saharan heat with idiosyncratic ice touch!

Structurally, “Face Value” buzzes with electric confidence as it oscillates between waves of raw emotiveness and high-octane beats. Oh, and it doesn’t just dip its toes in the pool of personal narrative, but rather performs a gutsy cannonball.

Tana’s vocals? Absolutely stellar. Picture a smoky haiku: potent yet delicate, tapping into the human experience’s ventricles with striking forcefulness. A husky timbre weaves through verses that are both tautly composed and woefully all-too-relatable, ultimately forming an intoxicating sonic mosaic.

Tana's “Face Value”: A Bold Ode to Self-Love and Societal Scrutiny
Tana’s “Face Value”: A Bold Ode to Self-Love and Societal Scrutiny

The overall production serves as an adhesive that seamlessly marries her extraordinary vocal acrobatics with trap elements to create something audibly delicious (figuratively speaking – please don’t eat your headphones). It reminds me of when you find out peanut butter and sriracha actually taste amazing together. Yeah, that kind of curiously delightful fusion.

In terms of vibe, “Face Value” maintains a palpable intensity that sustains across the track. While there’s much variety within today’s music scene skewing towards lyrical escapism or Instagram-worthy soundbites, Tana stands unblushing amid her peers, choosing to pull on heartstrings and rattle skeletons in society’s closet instead.

After this listen, you’ll inevitably ruminate on societal superficialities while jumping around your room belting out Trap-infused anthems (or is that just me?). Either way – cue applause for Tana.

Discovering “Kismet”: The Swigs’ Genre-Bending Musical Adventure

Well, pluck my heartstrings and blow me away! Fresh out of the post-punk rich Camden scene, The Swigs have served up a little something that defies boundaries: “Kismet”. It’s a generous dollop of indie psyche deliciousness with an unexpected Latino twist that gets your musical taste buds tingling to the rhythm.

This track showcases their genre-bending talent loud and clear. A dreamy psychedelic melody opens the song – think Lucy in the Sky but on her own journey through sonic dimensions. It superbly marries trippy vibes with just enough grandeur to keep it grounded yet tantalizing.

Discovering “Kismet”: The Swigs’ Genre-Bending Musical Adventure
Discovering “Kismet”: The Swigs’ Genre-Bending Musical Adventure

Just when you think you’ve got it figured out, The Swigs pull an audible left-turn. We careen into a faster-paced flamenco-esque second half – let me tell you, those intricate guitar lines don’t ever miss their call time! Their intensity is balanced by rapped vocal responses that almost seem to flirt with the notes, creating a lively repartee that is simply mouthwatering.

A shout-out here for female vocals in rock bands – as rare as hen’s teeth and refreshing like an oasis in this quintessential testosterone-driven landscape. She brings a unique tonality, adding another layer of allure to the sound tapestry The Swigs cleverly weave together.

Producer Alfie Pawsey deserves a round of applause too. He has fine-tuned “Kismet” into an audiophile’s sweet delight at West Eleven recording studio; no easy task if I might add!

So, is “Kismet” worth your time? Absolutely! It arrives on scene like some swashbuckling pirate flag waving in the winds of change across London’s underground indie music scene, making us eager for more mischief from The Swigs’ pantry.

Yes, both parents sing and play piano.

I think I inspired myself, but my dad was probably my biggest cheerleader in wanting me to take my music to the next level.

I took guitar lessons at age 9-11. The singing and writing I guess just came naturally. My mother is a gifted poet, so the lyrics are in my blood, you could say.

What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?

I’m not sure I know the correct answer to this, but I think it was either the Beach Boys or America (the band).

How could you describe your music?

I call it progressive folk, but others call it indie folk. It is ballad-driven with strong melodies and lyrics that tell stories.

Describe your creative process.

Usually, i decide to write so I sit down with my guitar and paper/pencil. Generally, I write music and lyrics together.

What is your main inspiration?

I don’t know if I have a main one. I just keep notes of little phrases or ideas for songs and use them when I sit down to write.

What musician do you admire most and why?

I have a number of musicians I admire, mostly because of their ability to touch me with their music: Cheryl Wheeler, Billy Joel, Dan Fogelberg, James Taylor, Pink.

Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?

Yes, it started out as more traditional folk sounding, and now it has more of a folk-pop vibe.Who do you see as your main competitor?

I don’t think I have a competitor, per se. There’s enough room for all of us.

What are your interests outside of music?

Reading, exercise, being with my girls, my love, and my pets. I also enjoy gardening in the spring/summer, traveling, and going to the beach.

If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?

In my other life, I’m a personal trainer.

What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?

I just think there are too many things for an independent musician to try and get done. There aren’t enough hours in the day for all the marketing, promotion, performing, practicing, writing, etc.

If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?

I wish the streaming services actually paid artists fairly.

Why did you choose this as the title of this project?

This album is titled “Retrospective” as it was 30 years in the making. Originally recorded in 1993 but never released to the public (because indie artists couldn’t do that then), I decided to release it this year on its 30th anniversary. So, I recorded harmonies with my much younger self and added a bonus track before remastering it.

What are your plans for the coming months?

I am going to be starting a new album in the next few months, hopefully to be released in the first quarter of next year.

Do you have any artistic collaboration plans?

I hope my daughter MCKNZ will continue to add her beautiful keyboard to my next album, as she has in the past.

What message would you like to give to your fans?
I would just like to say that I hope people who listen to my music get the honesty and vulnerability I wish to convey with every song I write. And, I thank those who listen, purchase, and give me feedback.

Listen To Satellite Train's Uplifting Anthem 'Cry' from 'The Melbourne Sessions'

Time and Time the Melbourne geniuses Satellite Train’ have proved their prowess when it comes to music production, and their latest single “Cry” says exactly that, the message, production and lyrical composition is and has always been on point.

with Michael Paynter’s strong vocals at the forefront, the band’s distinctive sound takes listeners on a trip through a variety of musical styles. “Cry” has a very distinct message that is elated by the singer, the lyrics are touchy and heartwrenching, this is the sophomore release of their debut upcoming album “The Melbourne Sessions”.

The song opens with the gentle sound of piano keys played by John McAll and the guitar strums by Shane O’Mara follows suite.

Just like the title “Cry”, the message paints the cry of a young in solitude, a young girl who has to live her life alone because of the absence of her parents, well one can argue this is a sad story, but here is the plot twist. Instead of dwelling on the negative aspect of all this ‘Satellite Train’ rewrites a beautiful story.

Despite this, the message in the song is not melancholy but ful of inspirations, especially in the triumphant chorus where the singer Paynter encourages the listener to “open up your heart” and “catch a falling star.” It conveys a message of inner strength and trying to find joy even during challenging times.

This single is a perfect preview of what to expect in their upcoming debut album, you can tell the band has a lot to offer their listeners.

What is your stage name
Kärma Sounds

Is there a story behind your stage name?
It was actually my partner in crime, music and life – Karlo who came up with it! It has similar letters to my given name (Karina M) and I’ve always had a deep interest in healing modalities like energy healing and crystal therapy, so the name resonated perfectly.

Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration in movies, certain interesting lines of text I hear that strike me, honest conversations and listening to new and old music.

What was the role of music in the early years of your life?
I started singing before I could talk and according to my dad, I was always on pitch! I got selected to sing in school productions and in high school I played sax and my music teacher encouraged me to sing at the year end concerts. After high school I sang with a girl group and we had our song play on radio stations across North America. Sadly the band later broke up and I toured across Europe singing backups for French singer Corneille .
I then enrolled in performance arts college and the rest is history …

Are you from a musical or artistic family?
Music has always been part of my DNA. My father was a musician and exposed me to soul, funk and jazz music my entire childhood. I recently found out on my mothers side, my great uncle was a Torah singer.

Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?

My parents are my biggest supporters But I’ve always dreamed of being a part of it because It’s something that has always been a part of me .

How did you learn to sing/write/to play?
I would say I’m self taught for the most part. Lots of practice to a point of obsession in my early years.

What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?

Growing up in Montreal , I was lucky to have attended the Montreal International Jazz Festival every summer and I saw numerous talented acts.. Off the top of my head, Holly Cole and Diana Krall.

How could you describe your music?
My music is a culmination of all the music I loved to listening to growing up. It’s a fusion of soul, electro-pop, RnB, funk, disco and a touch of jazz inflection

Describe your creative process.
I usually collaborate with other musicians and when I hear certain chords that I gravitate to, it inspires me to sing a melody on top. From there a mood or story starts to form, sometimes it’s quite abstract, but it’s a process of uncovering until I hear words that jump out, that’s is where the magic happens!

What musician do you admire most and why?

My all time favorite artist is SADE. Her music and lyrics are timeless and beloved across the globe. It’s sensual and has a good groove. Plus She’s has an enigmatic aura and is a true class act. These days my favorite artist is Jessie Ware, I adore her style & her voice. Uk soul always hits me.

Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?

Yes a bit, it depends on who I collaborate with, but I tend to come back to the same sound in the end!

Who do you see as your main competitor?

Hard to say… I don’t really want to be in competition with others.
Everyone has their own unique spice and I just want to be appreciated for what I bring to the table.

What are your interests outside of music?
I love spending time with my partner, my family and friends when I’m not performing. I like to do the simple things like cooking or taking a walk at the beach. I love to travel and experience other cultures and food, and I enjoy yoga & Pilates and skiing in the winter.

If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?
I would be doing something creative like wardrobe styling or graphics arts

What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?
For many years it’s been a ‘boys club’ with big barriers of entry past the gate keepers… but Things have been evolving and improving since the rise of steaming and social media.

If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?
Artists & songwriters need to be paid fairly for their work.

What are your plans for the coming months?

I’m planning on releasing more singles leading up to my ep/album release in the new year. I’m looking forward to performing my live show with my 6 piace band on a stage near you!

Do you have any artistic collaboration plans
No set plans at the moment, I definitely foresee some wonderful collaborations in the future, so I’m putting that energy out there in the universe… I’m always open to collaborating with artists that resonate!

What message would you like to give to your fans?
Huge gratitude for their support!
I love and appreciate every one of them!

John Byrne Takes You on a Wild West Ride with “The Bold and the Blasphemous”

Batten down the hatches, folks! John Byrne’s single “The Bold and the Blasphemous” hurtles listeners into a wild ride through time, tricking out 50’s-era gunslinger anthems with devil-may-care modernity. Damn straight, it’s the unlikely alloy of boot-kickin’ cowboy music and fists-in-the-air vista rock – audaciously blasphemous for purists perhaps, but undeniably intoxicating in its genre-bending craftsmanship.

From guitar strings that gallop like unstoppables mustangs to drums that stomp hearty echoes across vast canyons, this track is every inch a triumph for instrumental music. Oh, there’s no dodging its gripping energy and atmospheric thrum that reverberates like an adrenaline shot straight to the heart.

The genius behind this monolith? Multi-instrumentalist John Byrne from Liverpool – proving once more that geographical boundaries bear no weight on artistic curiosity. Isn’t it just ridiculously splendid how he channels American cowboy spirit through his English marrow!

Produced to sparkling finesse by Sweden’s Rollin’ Sound Studios, they’ve done justice to both breathtaking landscapes of spaghetti westerns and electric gush of contemporary stadium rock while injecting their signature production sheen.

If you closed your eyes right now and thought about feelings… by God you’d see yourself astride a thunderbolt stallion charging across weatherworn stretches in perfect sync with this rip-roaring composition.

Although “The Bold and the Blasphemous” demands auditory valor from its listener, it positively rewards with exhilaratingly bold instrumentals stamped with an ineffaceable ‘Byrne’ mark on its heart. Hold onto your hats (wide-brimmed or otherwise), amigos – because boy oh boy does this tune pack a wallop!

Shy Blossom’s “All I Wanted”: A Melodic Journey Through Lovesick Madness

Shy Blossom's “All I Wanted”: A Melodic Journey Through Lovesick Madness
Shy Blossom's “All I Wanted”: A Melodic Journey Through Lovesick Madness

Buckle up for one ride you’re about to be taken on with the latest release of “All I Wanted” by Shy Blossom. With a name as precious as Shy Blossom, it’s almost magical how fitting the song is.

Adriana McDonald leads the charge on this dazzling anthem that sweeps you up and spins you around in the giddy spell of a love so ruinous yet enticing. Steeped deeply in the alternative rock scene, she brings forth an embodiment of ethereal melancholy that intertwines seamlessly with her unabashedly fearless admission of lovesick madness.

Her voice – oh, her voice – bobs along like a luminous paper lantern floating on night waves; delicate yet full of quiet strength. It’s pitched-perfect symbolism layered over this melodic masterpiece, which like an unravelling ballad, keeps its most enchanting elements till last.

Structurally speaking, “All I Wanted” takes one step further into demonstrating that contemporary alternative rock is not merely angsty teens screaming into microphones. It draws comparisons with Paramore’s Hayley Williams’ blend of punk-esque vocal finesse without compromising any of its originality and authenticity.

Shy Blossom's “All I Wanted”: A Melodic Journey Through Lovesick Madness
Shy Blossom’s “All I Wanted”: A Melodic Journey Through Lovesick Madness

Let’s talk catchy. This track digs hooks into your brain from its anthemic chorus, but fear not those who dread mental repetition for one can hardly complain when such sonorous echos dance tunefully in your head all day long.

The production sphere did their magic right here, balancing each instrument and vocals perfectly to create that celestial experience – enhancing McDonald’s ability to deliver a soul-stirring message wrapped lovingly within music’s comforting embrace. Indeed art must imitate life because it feels exactly how being madly in love would sound if it had a voice.

In effect? This radiant jewel authenticated by Adriana has made chaos desirable – because if love is madness and mayhem, then ‘Shy Blossom’ is right, I say put on that helmet and dive right into the mess. Such are contradictions of life worth exploring on our musical journey. Oh, the things we learn from songs!

François Marius’s “Rasta Dance”: A Reggae-Pop Journey

François Marius's "Rasta Dance": A Reggae-Pop Journey
François Marius's "Rasta Dance": A Reggae-Pop Journey

Music has this uncanny ability to transport us, and François Marius’s single “Rasta Dance (Radio Edit)” is no exception – it’s an audible time machine taking us directly to the balmy island life with a touch of Abbott Road flair, all in just about four minutes. Imagine, basking in the soft glow of a sunset over Jamaica, while flipping your favorite reggae vinyl. That’s Rasta Dance for you!

Drawing on traditional roots and blending them with groovy beats that would make Bob Marley sway in rhythm, Francois has created something super catchy here while keeping it absolutely chill. The song truly honours its reggae heritage but bends those boundaries just enough with elements of pop that snuggle up comfortably next to the whip-smart baselines and rhythmic drum patterns.

The vocals? A splendid mix of earthy baritone undercurrents wrapped nicely in warm island timbre – seductive yet humbling at once. It’s like François is having an easy-going chat with you as a friend, yet not losing his ‘performer’ edge either.

But what makes the track shine above everything else is its infectious energy—both musically and vocally. You’d find yourself humming along without even realizing it! Its subtle production nuances show why Abbey Road Studios still maintain their gold standard―precision meets grace here.

Recorded between Estonia and Canada, Rasta Dance doesn’t miss out on carrying bits from both cultures. As a listener, you’re intrigued by how these starkly contrasting atmospheres play into one congruous sound—a testament to François’ artistic prowess indeed.

So dance or sway, sit back or tap your feet–however you wish to move with “Rasta Dance’, it’ll feel easy like Sunday mornings with pancakes on the side! Unique yet familiar; innovative but loyal to its roots―”Rasta Dance” is truly an embodiment of all things ‘reggae-pop’. If ever there was a soundtrack for an unforgettable summer nostalgic childhood trip, this might just be it!

Funkle Berry Talks About His Latest Album 'Impossible Dreams' And Inspiration

I don’t know what your driving force is, but for multi-talented producer Funkleberry, the quest to the perfection of his beats is what keeps him going, and his current body of work showcases his growth, this body of work is what he likes to call “Impossible Dreams”.

“Impossible Dreams” is his latest album and is full of head knocking instrumentals which has a nostalgic feeling to it, yet it keep you wide awake with your speakers buzzing. “Impossible Dreams” has 15 songs with unique instrumentations and themes.

This project is great for the background while you’re working; it’s all instrumental, and it moves fast so it stays interesting. The samples are all straight from records so it kind of sounds familiar and nostalgic but everything is chopped up and cut to hip hop drums so the speakers will still be knocking. This album increases corporate productivity by 18%. – Says Funkleberry

In an exclusive interview with Mister Styx of Musicarenagh, Funkleberry delved deeper into his personal life and shared with the world the person he is behind the scene and his main inspirations.

When asked who he sees as a competitor in the music industry, his response was fascinating, this is what he had to say ;

Everyone haha. But I like competing in music, it hurts a lot less than tearing your ACL

More of these topics were discussed during the interview, get the full interview below

Mister Styx: What is your stage name?
Funkleberry: They call me Funkleberry

Mister Styx: Is there a story behind your stage name?
Funkleberry: I was always fascinated by classic American literature and was/am a big Mark Twain fan. I thought this was a fun play on the Huckleberry Finn name and since that character was like a forever-young-runaway-adventurous spirit I thought it connected well to my artistic style.

MS: Where do you find inspiration?
F: I live in Los Angeles so inspiration and artists are all around me. My girlfriend is a writer and she’s constantly grinding in that world and that definitely inspires me. I also just love buying old records and allowing myself to get inspired by the sounds. The more obscure the better!

MS: What was the role of music in the early years of your life?
F: There was the church choir, playing in the middle school band, and stuff like that super early on but my family isn’t really music people in the sense of being a bunch of musicians. They appreciate music though, they just don’t play. They’re more sports people haha.

There was the church choir, playing in the middle school band, and stuff like that super early on but my family isn’t really music people

MS: Are you from a musical or artistic family?
F: Nah, they’re more sports people but I love my family and they’re always super supportive even if it’s like I’m speaking a different language to them when I try to provide music updates for them haha.

MS: Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?
F: I think growing up in Durham, NC I always looked up to the older guys in my neighborhood doing music and playing shows and going on tours and stuff like that. In LA I really look at my music teacher/friend Sweatson Klank as a big inspiration now.

MS: How did you learn to make beats?
F: I guess from trial and error and other kids in the neighborhood doing it and showing me how to do it then buying my own software and experimenting myself.

MS: What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?
F: My first memorable concert was Hootie and the Blowfish in South Carolina with a couple buddies lol. My first super cool concert was The Roots in Myrtle Beach… maybe still the dopest show I’ve ever been to. They were unreal back then.

MS: How could you describe your music?
F: I think lofi is a genre I’m starting to embrace more. Hiphop instrumentals feels accurate too.

MS: Describe your creative process.
F: I mean not give too much away here because I do like the idea of some secrecy or magic involved in the process but it’s basically this: buy some records, listen to them, grab some samples, whip up a drum pattern, and start cooking.

MS: What is your main inspiration?
F: The quest for the perfect beat.

MS: What musician do you admire most and why?
F: First name that comes to mind is J-Dilla. He was a real pioneer in the beattape world and his sampling techniques, drum patterns, sound design, and everything is so elite. I also think his life story and the idea of this completely self-sufficient artist who just committed so much to the music and was so loved and appreciated by so many people for his talents is a cool story even though it has a sad ending.

MS: Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?
F: I’ve definitely learned a lot about mixing and mastering recently but it’s still basically the same concepts for me!

MS: Who do you see as your main competitor?
F: Everyone haha. But I like competing in music, it hurts a lot less than tearing your ACL competing in soccer which is something I’ve done way too many times. (3 to be exact).

MS: What are your interests outside of music?
F: Big sports fan, I love watching football, basketball, soccer, and tennis. Really any sport I’m down. I also love painting and cooking.

MS: If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?
F: Probably more painting, I need artistic outlets.

MS: What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?
F: Collaborating can be a tough process, sometimes it’s better to just work on your own and make sure you’re always in control of your own sound. That can help make collaborations more fruitful if you feel secure in your own sound.

MS: If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?
F: Artists getting way more money per stream.

MS: Why did you choose this as the title of this project?
F: I found this great sample on an old comedy record I bought that was this guy talking about “I keep having these impossible dreams, all in color” and it was part of this larger bit they were doing but I just liked that little clip because of the phrase “Impossible Dreams”.

MS: What are your plans for the coming months?
F: I’ve got a project called Venetian Castle with a friend/collaborator Eric Maul who is a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist out of Venice. We’re excited to share that project.

MS: Do you have any artistic collaboration plans?
F: Funny you should ask.

MS: What message would you like to give to your fans?
F: Thank you so much for listening! I hope you enjoy.

“What is your stage name
Fumez

Is there a story behind your stage name?
I used to smoke when I was younger, I’ve given up now but that’s where the name came from

Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration from music of all different genres, my writing comes from groups such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones & The Bee Gees, and my production/arrangements I take inspiration from bands such as The Divine Comedy, and then from UK grime artists such as Dizzee Rascal & Ruff Sqwad, so a right mix there

What was the role of music in the early years of your life?
I would listen to music pretty much all day every day while growing up, I only took a break whilst at school, listening to it has always been a big part of my life

Are you from a musical or artistic family?
A few family members would play the guitar, my grandad was heavily into music & would constantly be listening to something, he would listen to jazz groups like War, then take a U-Turn and put on Eminem! Haha

Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?
I can’t quite remember what inspired me to be apart of it, I’ve just know that I’d always wanted to do something within the industry

How did you learn to sing/write/to play?
I was initially taught how to mix by one of my friends, and when I say taught, he showed me how to place vocals and loops into Magix & told me to get on with it, he gave me a copy of the programme so I could practice at home, when it comes to writing, one of my friends decided to write a few verses for me in a song, I had been mixing for a while but they wanted me fully involved, i then started writing my own material from then onwards

What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?
I genuinely can’t remember the first concert as it was so long ago, but the first live act I can remember watching is The Lightning Seeds.

How could you describe your music?
My style of music is Hip-Hop, with elements of UK Grime and pop

Fumez out with Phase Two album ,Fumez releases Phase Two album ,Fumez with Phase Two album ,Fumez drops Phase Two album ,Phase Two album by Fumez ,Phase Two album from Fumez ,Fumez ,Phase Two album ,Fumez Phase Two album ,Phase Two album Fumez
My style of music is Hip-Hop, with elements of UK Grime and pop

Describe your creative process.
It varies from project to project, With my album Phaze Two I was writing about things that were going on around me at the time, one example is I had an argument with a friend, i then went home in a rage and wrote the song Halfway To Hell, I also wrote the song It Doesn’t Matter based on tension within my group of friends at that time. The song Just Be Yourself was the same, I witnessed a friend of mine change due to hanging around with someone they looked up to, they ended up becoming someone they wasn’t just to impress this particular person.

What is your main inspiration?
Life, and music in general, I could listen to a particular song, hear a certain lyric then write an entire song based off that one lyric

What musician do you admire most and why?
I’ve always admired John Lennon & Paul McCartney, I’ve taken a lot of my writing skill from them, the influence they and The Beatles had on music has been written many times, even today’s artists like Taylor Swift have been said to be influenced by Paul McCartney from the Beatles.

Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?
My writing, producing, arranging and mixing process has evolved a lot and matured over the years.

Who do you see as your main competitor?
Honestly there’s no competition here, we’re all out here to do our own thing.

What are your interests outside of music?
I like gaming, both playing and collecting, Ive streamed on twitch in the past too, I’d like to get back into that at some point.

If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?
Exactly what I’m doing now, your typical 9 to 5 job

What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?

The change! When i started back in the late 2000’s we had MySpace music, that was it, as crazy as it sounds, it was easier to get noticed back then than it is today, I would go round the local independent record shops and ask them to sell copies of my album, which they would, people would go out and hunt for new music, they would pick a copy of your album up and give it a listen, if you left contact details on the sleeve sometimes they would drop you a message on MySpace telling you how great, or how terrible your album was!

Although it’s easier to release music today, it’s so much harder to get noticed, anyone with a microphone and basic music creating software can release a single on to streaming platforms worldwide! A lot of independent shops have closed down, the listening public go for what’s familiar, they don’t tend to branch out these days which is a shame!

If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?
The pay per stream ratio, artists don’t get paid enough for their creations. It’s a shame.

Why did you choose this as the title of this project?
My first project was titled 2009, I was initially going to title this 2010 (the year it was originally released), as this was a concept album and completely different to what I had released before, I changed it to “Phaze Two”, it’s a completely different phaze within my music career.

What are your plans for the coming months?
We have the vinyl of Phaze Two coming at the start of 2024 so at the moment I’m focused on getting that finished, I’ll also be doing a reissue of the CD as that’s now sold out.

Do you have any artistic collaboration plans?

I will continue to work with the guys who worked on phaze two with me, Calmar who produced some of the tracks and acted as executive producer on the album, Charleigh Jayne who provided some fantastic vocals, and PJ Vice who performed some rapping with me, we have formed a group called SouthSystem, all new collaborations will be released under this name, we will also still continue with our solo careers too.

What message would you like to give to your fans?
I would like to thank all of my fans for buying the album and streaming it, thank you to the original fan’s who have stuck around since the early days, and thank you to all my new fans I’ve gained since the re-release of this album and also thank you for all of your kind words, without you guys I wouldn’t be where I am now! So thank you all so much! It’s really appreciated.

Per Ploug's 'Piece of My Mind': A Heartfelt Musical Journey

Hold on tight guys as we embark on a musical journey full of emotions that speaks right into your heart, join me as we digest Per Ploug’s latest tune, “Piece of My Mind.” Although Per Ploug is from Denmark for some time now he currently resides in Ireland.

Per Ploug always chooses the right tool to express his thoughts and emotions, he’s really good at creating songs that make you feel something and make you think a bit.

In “Piece of My Mind,” he’s got some beautiful music going on. You’ve got these lovely keyboard sounds and some kind of moody guitar stuff that really hits you in the feels. And the way he adds a violin to the mix, it’s just perfect. It gives the song this extra layer of emotion.

This is the type of song that gives you the chills, it has this cool breeze that comes along with it, you can help but fall inlove with “Piece of My Mind”, its soothing and relaxing with relatable lyrics that can be enjoyed by people from across the globe.

Per’s voice is just right for this kind of song – it’s deep and sincere. But it’s the words he’s singing that really stand out. He’s talking about things like why some people keep getting richer while others stay poor. And he’s asking why some countries don’t do more to help their own people. These are questions a lot of us have probably thought about.

Per Ploug and his buddy Eoin Mulcahy, who helps with the music, have really nailed it with this one. This is Per’s sixth single, and it’s a ballad that gets you thinking about what’s happening in the world and how it’s affecting nature and people. So, give it a listen; it’s a song that really gets to the heart of things.

This is the type of song that you put on repeat over and over and never gets old and you don’t get tired of listening to, Per Ploug has really outdone himself with this and it is evident in this song.

Per is and artist to look forward to, although this is my first time listening to him I believe he has more up his sleeves and I cannot wait to see what he has in stock for us.

Luke Boor Takes On A Ride Through Heartaches With "Queens'

Let me introduce you guys to the latest single from the camp of Luke Boor which he titles “Queens”. “Queens” is more of a musical journey through the a love story, through the heartaches of a failed relationship, this indie-rock gem is a real treat. It’s got these hooks that just grab you, and the lyrics are relatable and captivating.

“When I wrote the song I had just moved to New York and landed a job as a hotel doorman in The Financial District…at the time, life seemed epic, larger than life, just like my new home. Naturally, New York showed up in my songwriting.”

Says Luke Boor

The drums kinda remind you of the sounds you’d hear on the NYC subway tracks. Luke Boor, got one of the best voices in the indie rock scene and this can be clearly heard in this record and “Queens” has this cool synthesized tones, which is graced by his vocals.

It’s nostalgic, it’s like you’re right there, a vivid vision of the entire event unfolding right infront of you.

“Queens” is not just about heartache; it’s about hope and resilience a driving force to keep fighting even the face of adversities.

And then, like many of us, COVID-19 hit, and everything came to a halt. Luke lost his job, struggled with his mental health, and had to put music on the back burner. “Queens” was put on hold. But, as they say, after the storm, there’s sunshine. Things got better for Luke, and for all of us, and it made sense to return to music and release a song that’s always been special.

“The album is very special to me because I created the opportunity to collaborate with my great great grandfather Josiah Jesse (J.J) Ransome Kuti on track 9. He wrote and recorded a song about deliverance called Igbala in the late 1800s; he wrote and composed many other popular Yoruba gospel songs in his time.  I take my culture everywhere I go, because it is my heritage.”

With this you can tell Baba Kuboye strives at keeping his African culture alive and this is evident while listening to the entire 32 minutes and 7 songs. One amazing thing about the album is the diverse instrumentation which was used during the production of the album.

The last track on the album is the extension of the first one a longer version of “Soft Life” a bonus track. Appreciate the complex and captivating Cultural Canvas while exploring the vibrations, ear-pleasing melodies, and aura creating a picture of this everlasting here and now that feels personal!

Hana Piranha's "Lorelei": A Darkly Captivating Rock Gem

In the smoky, mysterious world of alternative rock, often steeped in nods to the gothic tradition and layered with smoke and mirrors, Hana Piranha emerges wielding her newest single “Lorelei” taken from her upcoming album ‘Wingspan’. Enveloped in a brooding canopy of deep, anthemic tones she weaves a tale as old as time but vibrantly freshly spun.

“Lorelei” serves as an incarnation of tumultuous strength birthed from the chrysalis of past abuse; a gritty gem polished by rough hands. This isn’t just a song – it’s Hana’s cathartic release echoing around our skulls like an air-raid siren over desolate fields.

True to its classic rock roots yet innovative in its darkly captivating appeal, “Lorelei” springs forth with energetic riffs that ripple beneath Piranha’s distinct vocals. Traces of Stevie Nicks meet Siouxie Sioux in her raw timbre – potent and compelling. It toys with aggression while laying bare vulnerability – an unusual yet intoxicating mix.

The single reverberates with echoes of modernity tucked within epic guitar bends and sophisticated production overlays. Its feel is ruthlessly honest but handcrafted meticulously to channel not sadness or rage but growth—a feeling many listeners shall find empowering.

With “Lorelei”, Hana Piranha serves up more than just music – she deviously bottles lightning into glass for us to sip upon. It dapples darkness across our tongues yet leaves us thirsting for more—a testament to this artist’s unique craftmanship rooted in resilience and freedom.
