Great, today we are meeting with Brian Hingerty, an amazing musician and his latest song, ‘Storm’, is doing really well. However, “Storm” appeared just from the press after his early work very precisely reflects where Brian is now at the moment of his trouble and emotional development.
A riff with a peerless feel that the uniquely tuned guitar belonging to the Brian and his mastery of slick slide guitar responsible for. It’s about that evening when summer is winding down, and you are little bit feeling the absence of that wildness and be ready for what’s more to come.

What is your stage name
Brian Hingerty
Is there a story behind your stage name?
It’s just my name
Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration from the people I meet and the interactions I have.
What was the role of music in the early years of your life?
I started playing music at the age of two years old. Ever since then music has felt like the anchor point for my life.
Are you from a musical or artistic family?
Funnily enough, I do not. But my parents are massive music aficionados.
Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?
I don’t think I am inspired to be part of the music industry, I just want to make what I make and hopefully be heard doing it. I can’t imagine following another career path, so inevitably I have to partake in the music industry.
How did you learn to sing/write/to play?
I had many music mentors growing up mostly to teach me guitar and jazz theory. I learned to write over years of toiling in my bedroom trying to write something that felt authentic to who I am.
What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?
I went to the Bridge School benefit and saw a whole host of amazing artist play including Neil Young and Tony Benett to name a few.
How could you describe your music?
I’m not good at this, but I think my music would sound to most people like folk music. I just think of it as an honest representation of where I am in my life at the moment a song is written.
Describe your creative process.
I spend weeks writing little pieces of songs, toiling over small chord changes and sentences until I eventually come around to finishing songs and recording them.
What is your main inspiration?
I have found that my inspiration comes mostly from living a well-rounded life. I am not someone who can just live in a windowless bedroom and make music all day. I have to be out and about, be social, and then allocate time to make music.
What musician do you admire most and why?
I can’t choose one. Anyone who seems to feel like they’ve found their own voice and are unapologetic. John Coltrane, Nina Simone, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, John Lennon… and many many more.
Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?
Although I have played music for almost all of my life, I think I am just starting to find a style that is uniquely my own. I do think it will evolve over time, though.
Who do you see as your main competitor?
I don’t see anyone as a competitor.
What are your interests outside of music?
I love to cook, travel, and consume other forms of art.
If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?
I have no idea.
What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?
Trying to be authentic and then learning that one cannot “try” to do so but has to grow into it.
If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?
I wish it was easier to figure out how to release music, the self release thing is really strange and new. Everyone I know who is releasing music is quite confused by it.
Why did you choose this as the title of this project?
Storm just felt right.
What are your plans for the coming months?
I am going to write and start recording my first full length album

I am always collaborating with friends. I actually thrive on it.
