The White Whisper’s “African Lullaby” is a filmic and dreamy song which leads the listener on a journey through sound. It is included on the album Lunar Dances, the purpose of which was to create a dance song with an emotional, deep, darker and sadder vibe for the dance floor.
The song was created by Massimo Barberi with soft xylophone sounds, dreamy synths, distant vocals and a changing drum’n’bass beat. Calm and alive, all at once, a mood that is soft and dreamlike, but with rhythms that keep the song moving.

The experimental atmosphere of “African Lullaby” is enhanced by cinematic elements and electronically enhanced sounds, as though one is entering into another world. It somehow feels relaxing and wide awake at once and easy to enjoy as a song, and as an experience.
The track also demonstrates The White Whisper’s broader style which incorporates ambient, gothic, drum’n’bass, avant-garde, art pop and ethno-house elements. The project does not aim at following trends and instead is based on the creative freedom, imagination and real feelings.
Considerate and rich in atmosphere, “African Lullaby” is a wonderful listen for the fans of music that’s mysterious, moving and deep.
