Rock Gravitas: Colm O’Mahony & The Hot Touches’ “Damage”

Rock Gravitas: Colm O'Mahony & The Hot Touches' "Damage"

In the spirit of a kaleidoscope blending colours in perpetual tumult, Colm O’Mahony & The Hot Touches paint an audacious fresco of Irish rock. Their debut single “Damage” sways like a ship embroiled in lush zephyrs; it’s heady and substantial, without falling into over-saturation—a musical paradox as intriguing as it is compelling.

From its inception, “Damage” beckons you into the heartland of Killarney’s pub culture – warm beer cooling off hot talks. The hard-driving rock underpinning lends the track gravitas that’s tempered only by O’Mahony’s soothing yet resonant male vocals—akin to a raven gliding against foreboding fogs.

The themes appear universal at first blush but pry further and discover an undertow leading towards humility—the DNA strand linking us all. A poignant touch indeed for these tumultuous times.

Though this selection supposedly belongs within confines of ‘rock,’ one could easily argue the sighting of folkloric spectres on distant horizons—an ethereal union between retrospective footprints and forward strides.

As we eagerly await their full album release with bated breaths, remember this well: In footballing parlance à la Martin Tyler: ‘And It’s Live,’ so let there be no mistake – Colm O’Mahony & The Hot Touches offer more than just ‘a touch’. They are orchestrating symphonies birthed from Ireland’s soulful soil—expect resounding echoes!

LEONARDODDJ & Iyke Parker Team Up With Korshi T And NEL For Single “Piece of Art”

Ghana’s new favorite music duo, LeonardoDDJ and Iyke Parker, kick off 2024, where they left off with their first song of the year. After two successive singles, the duo teamed up with vocalist Korshi T and Disk Jockey Nel on the song they call Piece of Art.

There are moments when your eyes fall on someone, and for a brief period you are lost for words because you are caught up in the amazement of the beauty before your eyes. Caught with his eyes on the prize, Korshi T takes his time as he serenades the “work of art” before him. He highlights not only her physical attributes but her entire being as what has caught his attention.

Life is very short, so when you see someone who tickles your fancy, it is only right that you walk up to them and express yourself to them. The song also doubles as an appreciation of one’s self and body.

Produced by Iyke Parker, the song is a mid-tempo blend of Afrobeats and Amapiano and embodies the mood of the song and the message it conveys.

“Downfall”: Kick Pistol’s Alt-Rock Eruption

"Downfall": Kick Pistol's Alt-Rock Eruption

In just a smidge under three minutes, UK alt-rock foursome Kick Pistol dismantle the floor beneath your feet with “Downfall”. This feels like experiencing an eruption of Vesuvius in pompeii – gritty, impactful, and intense. The track boomerangs us from cherished memories of punk-infused alterna-headdresses to gothic corridors laden with shadowy cynicism weaved into its tightly packed lyrical clusters.

A noticeable curvature from their previous works such as “Mechanical Heart” or “Glass Cage“, there’s something reminiscent here about days when Robert Smith painted melancholic strokes on vinyl canvas but punctuated by avante-garde spirits similar to those encapsulating The Damned.

"Downfall": Kick Pistol's Alt-Rock Eruption
“Downfall”: Kick Pistol’s Alt-Rock Eruption

Though embedded within the narrative is anxiety and turmoil—a celebration masked in other’s failures yet serving paradoxically as a beacon for interconnecting our collective fears—it pulsates through well-formed layers of sonic progression that seem almost responsible for holding this musical cosmos together. With Taylor Chambers’ mastering adding a Fight Club dirtiness dropped onto melancholic riffs—the final listen morphs into an emotional rock opera; organically profound yet synthetically perplexing.

As a precursor to its highly anticipated EP release — it keeps the suspense alive—Kick Pistol’s exploration leaves no stone unturned while dancing around undefined boundaries between liberation and captivity, expressed through emotionally charged music making. “Downfall” doesn’t fall short—it gleefully soars skyward executing gravity-defying gown goals much like Chelsea’s Didier Drogba did under Martin Tyler’s rhapsodic commentary. Ornamental delight!

With all instruments and vocals handled by Kamen himself, this album dances on tracks designed by sonic wizardry so personal yet universal—it transcends mere soundwaves turning them into golden narrations from times neither past nor future can claim exclusively.

Guys how about you just have a listen to Frank Renfordt’s new EP, “Vain Regrets” already? Dude, you won’t believe what I just saw! This is unbelievable! Launched on just the recent March 22nd, it is a spellbinding travel directly into the center of country music narration.

But do you know that Frank was the brains behind ‘The Cumberland River Project’, of course. Unlike before, he’s decided to be the one behind the wheel and also adding his own melodies to all the songs in the EP. I, meanwhile, learned that authenticity and emotions are the key to convincing the audience.

The EP opens with the upbeat tune called “In Line.” This song will urge you to chase your dreams and treat every day with wild adventurousness. Wait, there’s more. On this track, Frank breaks down friendship, longing, and self-discovery, and it is only through the lens of a real country artist that one can paint human feelings like that.

Well, there’s one track that really shone for me, and it’s “Mr. Spaceman.” OMG, wait till you hear this one! Frank takes us on a cosmic journey, part of which is insane, part of which is realism, and only country music could make it.

This song will urge you to chase your dreams and treat every day with wild adventurousness.

However, the gemstone in this bunch for me was the closing hitter, “Sweet Freedom.” This soul-stirring anthem is about a journey of life’s ups and downs and real pursuit of the freedom. This is the type of song that will certainly make you experience various kinds of emotions, so you better believe it.

Now, you might be asking me “Mister Styx, how about the music?”. Well, go ahead and calm down because here is what I have got for you. The instrumentation is vivid, The lyrics are meaningful, And the whole sound combines classic country rock with modern approach by means of it, it becomes timeless and modern at the same time.

However, what I believe is the EP’s main distinguishing factor is Frank’s unfeigned adoration of his trade. It comes out in every note, every word. His powerful vocals adorned with beautiful harmonies, combine with the well-arranged music and thus, secures the listener?s experience that is as good-spirited as it is thoughtful at the same time.

G-Sinnz on Navigating Modern Love Through Music

Romance nowadays navigates a zigzag path where people get together and fall apart via the screen tap. In the case of London-based musician G-Sinnz, born Gareth Sinnerine, music has become a powerful tool to examine the intricacies of 21st century relationship.

His latest single “Como Estas” featuring the Colombian artist Hey Haad is about the anxious first getting-to-know-you period that’s often marked with mental uncertainties. On a riddim with the intermingling of Caribbean rhythms and contemporary tunes, the song portrays the vulnerability and the hard decisions that come with modern day dating.

“It’s about expressing your emotions and questioning whether this individual is sincere,” says G-Sinnz. “Today, people come up with so many different games when it comes to getting to know a new person. ‘Como Estas’ refers to being able to be yourself.”

To the Trinidad-born and UK based musician and executive producer of Caricom Music the process of fusion of different cultures is vital. Tapping into the broad palette ranging from his classically refined background, through reggaeton influences and the soca sounds of his heritage, he creates a unique blend that is distinctly modern.

“This is a song I want everyone to let go to,” he says with a laugh. And I also want this song to speak to the very real emotions about openness with someone new on both levels of excitement and apprehension: on pondering whether to spend more or just protect your heart.

What is your stage name?

G-Sinnz

Is there a story behind your stage name?

My stage name, G-Sinnz, is a direct nod to my real name, Gareth Sinnerine. “G” stands for Gareth, keeping a connection to my authentic self. “Sinnz” is a playful twist on my last name, Sinnerine, blending it with a modern flair. Essentially, G-Sinnz represents my journey as an artist, rooted in my identity yet embracing creativity and individuality in every beat.

Where do you find inspiration?

My music is deeply rooted in my life experiences and cultural background, drawing inspiration from memories of my upbringing and significant holidays. Influenced by artists like Sech, Arcangel, Machel Montano, and Dalex, I’m inspired by their distinctive styles and lyrical depth. Their music resonates with me on a personal level, informing my creative process and shaping my artistic vision.

I strive to weave together elements of my cultural heritage with contemporary sounds, crafting music that is both authentic and relatable. Through storytelling and emotive expression, I aim to connect with audiences on a profound level, sharing glimpses of my journey and inviting listeners to join me on a musical exploration of life’s moments.

What was the role of music in the early years of your life?

Reflecting on my early years, music played a significant role in shaping who I am today. Learning the piano at age seven introduced me to classical music, providing a structured foundation for my musical journey. However, beyond formal lessons, music was a constant presence in our home, filled with the lively beats of Calypso and dancehall.

These genres infused my childhood with energy and culture, instilling in me a deep love for music. As I grew older, I explored a wider range of genres like Reggaeton, Salsa, and Afrobeats, expanding my musical horizons. Overall, music in my early years wasn’t just about learning; it was a journey of discovery and passion that continues to inspire me today.

Are you from a musical or artistic family?

While none of my family members are professional musicians, our roots in Trinidad and Tobago have deeply influenced our connection to music and the arts. Our family’s involvement in our annual Carnival celebrations, whether through management roles in masquerade bands like Tribe or actively participating as masqueraders on the vibrant streets, showcases our deep engagement with artistic traditions.

These experiences have instilled in me a profound appreciation for music and creativity, shaping my own artistic journey and fuelling my passion for cultural expression.

Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?

It’s ultimately my love for creating music that ignited my passion and drive. Establishing my record label in August 2020 was a pivotal moment, driven by a desire to support and collaborate with emerging musicians, particularly in the Soca genre.

However, as our journey progressed, the scope of our work expanded to encompass a diverse range of genres, including Dancehall, Reggaeton, Soca, and Zouk. Along the way, it’s been the dedication and talent of both new and experienced artists that have continued to inspire and motivate me. Their creativity, resilience, and commitment to their craft fuel my own aspirations within the music industry, driving me to cultivate a platform where artists can thrive and their music can reach wider audiences.

How did you learn to sing/write/to play?

Starting at the age of seven, I began playing the piano, immersing myself in classical music and developing a strong foundation in musical theory. This early training provided me with a deep understanding of how different instruments complement each other in arrangements, enriching my musical knowledge.

Throughout my high school years, I delved into music production using digital audio workstations like Emagic Logic, honing my skills in crafting and producing music. Continuing into my University years, I further refined my production techniques, leveraging my familiarity with Logic. Additionally, through my record label, established in 2020, I collaborated with songwriters, learning the art of writing music firsthand.

This collaborative process culminated in my first songwriting credit for “Baile Intimo,” my inaugural Reggaeton release in 2023. Overall, my journey in music has been a blend of formal education, practical experience, and creative collaboration, each contributing to my development as a versatile musician and songwriter.

What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?

While I’ve been fortunate to attend many memorable concerts, one that stands out is Jay Z and Kanye West’s “Watch the Throne” concert in London in 2012. The energy and excitement of that night left a lasting impression on me. The music, combined with the captivating stage setup and visuals, created an unforgettable atmosphere.

Witnessing two iconic artists perform together, with Rihanna as a special guest, was an incredible experience, and it ignited my passion for live music. While I may not recall my very first concert, the “Watch the Throne” concert will always hold a special place in my memories for its uniqueness and the electrifying performance delivered by Jay Z and Kanye West.

How could you describe your music?

When describing my music, I would characterise it as “feel-good” music that resonates with the soul and essence of its respective genre. Each song is crafted with engaging lyrics rooted in true-to-life concepts, aiming to connect with listeners on a deeper level. One notable aspect of my music is its family-friendly nature, as I prioritise creating songs without the use of explicit language. Overall, my music strives to uplift, inspire, and evoke positive emotions, offering a refreshing and enjoyable listening experience for audiences of all ages

Describe your creative process.

It begins with the production of an instrumental that sets the tone and style for the song. Once the instrumental is crafted, I focus on writing the lyrics based on a relatable concept that aligns with the mood and vibe of the music. This ensures that listeners can connect with the song on a personal level. With the song’s structure and top line established, I move on to recording the vocals, capturing the essence and emotion of the lyrics.

During the mixing phase, we fine-tune the instrumental and vocals, making any necessary edits to enhance the overall sound. If needed, additional vocal layers are recorded to add depth and texture to the track. Finally, the song undergoes mastering, ensuring it’s polished and ready for distribution across various platforms. This meticulous process ensures that each song not only sounds great but also resonates with listeners on a meaningful level.

What is your main inspiration?

It ultimately boils down to creating music that resonates deeply with the end user—the listener. I find immense inspiration in crafting songs that convey meaningful messages and evoke emotions that connect with the audience.

Whether it’s through the lyrics, melodies, or overall sonic experience, my goal is to create music that brings joy, comfort, or inspiration to those who listen. Knowing that my music has the power to impact someone’s life in a positive way is what drives me to continue creating and sharing my art with the world.

What musician do you admire most and why?

Stevie Wonder immediately comes to mind. His versatility across an array of musical genres, including R&B, Hip hop, Christmas, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Soul, Funk, and more, is truly remarkable. Stevie Wonder’s ability to excel in such diverse styles showcases not only his immense talent but also his innovative spirit and boundless creativity.

His influence extends far beyond his own performances; as one of the best-selling music artists of our time, he has also contributed to the success of numerous iconic artists through his songwriting and production work.

What I admire most about Stevie Wonder is his unwavering dedication to his craft, his ability to touch hearts and minds through his music, and his commitment to using his platform to promote positive change in the world. He serves as a source of inspiration not only for his musical genius but also for his enduring legacy of artistry and advocacy.

Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?

It’s clear that significant growth has occurred, largely thanks to the invaluable collaborations with talented musicians such as Kyle Phillips from Badjohn Republic, Ash Seegobin from Smash Productions, and Kasey Phillips from Precision Productions. Working alongside these individuals has provided me with invaluable insights into music production and the industry as a whole, allowing me to approach my craft from a fresh and nuanced perspective.

Their mentorship and guidance have empowered me to expand my creative horizons and refine my skills, ultimately contributing to the evolution of my artistic style. However, I recognise that there is always more to learn, and I am committed to continuous growth and development as an artist, embracing new challenges and opportunities that will further shape my musical journey.

Who do you see as your main competitor?

I approach my career with a mindset focused on personal growth and artistic integrity rather than comparisons with others. I firmly believe that each artist’s journey is unique and should not be measured against someone else’s success or trajectory. Rather than viewing fellow musicians as competitors, I see them as collaborators, allies, and sources of inspiration.

By embracing this perspective, I can fully immerse myself in my own creative journey, unrestricted by external pressures or comparisons. My focus remains steadfast on honing my craft, pushing my boundaries, and sharing my unique voice with the world, independent of any notion of competition.

What are your interests outside of music?

I prioritise spending quality time with my family and friends, cherishing moments of connection and shared experiences. Additionally, I maintain a commitment to my personal well-being by regularly attending the gym, where I find fulfilment in staying active and healthy. I also have a passion for travel, as exploring new destinations allows me to broaden my horizons, experience diverse cultures, and create lasting memories.

Furthermore, I dedicate some of my time to engaging in charity projects, particularly those focused on building or renovating living spaces for disabled children. These endeavours allow me to contribute positively to my community while fostering a sense of fulfilment and purpose outside of my musical pursuits

If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?

If I weren’t pursuing a music career, I would likely be working as a graphic designer. During my time at university, I found immense enjoyment in this field as part of my course. Designing allowed me to exercise my creativity and visual expression, much like composing music does. I appreciate the opportunity to blend artistry with functionality, creating designs that communicate messages effectively. While music has become my primary focus, graphic design remains a secret passion of mine, and I could see myself thriving in this field if I had chosen a different path.

What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?

One of the biggest challenges I’ve encountered in my music journey, particularly as an independent music label, is the difficulty of building a platform of listeners and promoting artists whose names may not yet be widely recognised. In a crowded and competitive industry, breaking through the noise and gaining visibility can be a significant hurdle.

It requires strategic marketing efforts, creative promotion tactics, and relentless perseverance to establish a presence and attract an audience. Additionally, navigating the ever-changing landscape of music distribution and promotion platforms adds another layer of complexity. Despite these challenges, I remain dedicated to finding innovative solutions, building meaningful connections with listeners, and providing a platform for talented artists to showcase their work.

If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?

If I could change one thing in the music industry, it would be to challenge the bias towards major label artists in the selection process for Spotify editorial playlists. Currently, there’s a perception that only music distributed by major labels possesses the quality and appeal worthy of inclusion in these playlists.

However, this mindset overlooks the vast pool of talent and creativity present within independent labels. I believe that music should be judged on its merit and impact rather than its distribution channel. By fostering a more inclusive and equitable selection process, we can provide greater visibility and opportunities for independent artists to showcase their music to a broader audience.

This shift would not only empower independent labels but also enrich the diversity and vibrancy of the music industry as a whole.

Why did you choose this as the title of this project?

The title of this project, “Como Estas” was chosen deliberately to encapsulate the essence of a common situation where emotions may be one-sided. “Como Estas” translates to “How are you?” in English, and while it’s a simple question often used to initiate conversations, within the context of this song, it embodies a deeper longing for connection.

The theme explores the dynamic where one person desires something more than friendship, while the other person may wish to maintain a platonic relationship. This title reflects the tension and vulnerability inherent in such situations, inviting listeners to resonate with the complexity of unrequited feelings and the delicate balance of emotions.

What are your plans for the coming months?

In the coming months, I have several exciting projects in the pipeline that I’m actively working on. Firstly, I’m dedicated to finalising and releasing two other projects that are currently in progress. While we don’t have confirmed release dates yet, I’m committed to ensuring that these projects meet the high standards I set for myself and my team.

Additionally, there’s an exciting possibility on the horizon—we’re in discussions about releasing a remix to “Como Estas” by the end of May 2024. This remix presents an opportunity to breathe new life into a this track and engage with our audience in a fresh and dynamic way.

Do you have any artistic collaboration plans? Currently, we have some exciting artistic collaborations in the works, although I’m unable to confirm specific artists for projects that are still in negotiation. However, I can share details about a couple of confirmed collaborations that I’m particularly thrilled about. Firstly, we’re working on a vibrant Soca project that involves talented singer and songwriter Problem Child, along with Pahjo.

Their unique styles and energy promise to bring a fresh perspective to the genre, and I’m excited about the music we’ll create together. Additionally, we have an upcoming dancehall project in collaboration with Smash Productions and the talented artist Millichab. Their combined expertise and creativity are sure to result in a dynamic and memorable track that will resonate with audiences. These collaborations represent an opportunity to blend diverse talents and perspectives, resulting in music that transcends boundaries and captivates listeners.

What message would you like to give to your fans?

I’d like to express my sincere gratitude for accompanying me on this journey. Your support and feedback mean the world to me, and I’m truly grateful for each and every one of you. Your encouragement fuels my passion for creating music, and I am committed to continuing to deliver content that resonates with you.

Together, we’ve shared moments of joy, inspiration, and connection through music, and I look forward to embarking on even more memorable experiences together in the future. Thank you for believing in me, and I promise to keep striving to exceed your expectations and never to disappoint.

Led by venerable Chris Taylor Brown, the band infuses every song with heavyweight energy and introspective lyrics which seem to beautifully bubble up from personal stories and confrontations within the soul. Step into the sonic labyrinth that is TĒMNA RÁDIST’s latest release, “Out of Silence.” It’s a curious blend of dark cosmic ambient waves intertwined with raw, harsh distorted electronic sounds that Viktoriia Kliuchnyk has expertly molded from shadows and whispers. This single serves not just as music but as an expedition across the chasms of existence under the specter of war.

Imagine if David Lynch composed music in Chernobyl’s abandoned hallsᅳthis could well be what he’d orchestrate. “Out Of Silence” turns existential dread into a symphony; its IDM influences pulse like gentle seismic vibrations beneath layers so emotionally thick you’d need metaphysical shears to cut through them. The essence contains dualities – calm yet disturbing, formless yet strikingly acute.

The track feels like exploring an ancient dwelling devoid of light but full of past echoes. The distortions mesh with acoustic elements creating paradoxical harmonies reminiscent somewhat ironicallyᅳof both Aphex Twin’s controlled chaos and Sigur Ros’ haunting tranquilities.

Captured during tense times in wartime Ukraine, there’s defiance hereᅳa fervent assertion of creativity amidst destructionᅳand it resonates deeply within each note TĒMNA RÁDIST strikes or elicits through electronic conjurings. This isn’t just soundᅳit’s survival distilled down to vibrations seeking solace amid silence aggressively filled by unfriendly reverberations around her.

Exploring Existential Symphonies: “Out of Silence” by TĒMNA RÁDIST

Have you ever wondered what angst tasted like? Perhaps dip your ears into these tumultuous track flavored subtly with hopeᅳthe hidden spice in this complex concoction wrought directly out from under perilous skies where even stars hesitate before shining.

In summing up, how perplexing yet profound! You’re left more lost than foundᅳbut fascinatingly soᅳin the sprawling acoustic ecosystems painted painstakingly by TĒMNA RÁDIST.

“Out Of Silence” roams unchartered psychic territories laying bare our most basal fears and fitsful dreams interwoven unsettlingly yet sublimely capturing war’s silent screams translated into melodies decidedly eerie; guaranteed it leaves listeners anywhere between bewildered meditation and faerie-led trodes tape-inspired wanderlust!

Barry Muir's Latest album "Bakersfield" Is A Masterpiece

Barry Muir’s newest album entitled “Bakersfield” is another thing altogether. This is more than just a bunch of songs together; this music sets the mood. Such sound takes you back to this old world that goes with the classic rock music. This makes you feel as if you are listening to some Americana soundtrack. And this song was released on 10th April definitely; let me tell you these guys have some terrific mixing and a fusion of the old classic tunes of artists like Clapton and Mellencamp with a more modern, soulful type of music like the Eagles.

However, the kind of music which you listen to by Muir is deeply a therapeutic medicine, right? The song gets deep and dark, as it tackles tough issues such as addiction, but the hope and resilience is always there, as it can be felt throughout the verses. It is said that sorrow has no language but his music has that unique optimism.

The music video for “Waiting For The Sunrise” is such a great fit for the whole mood of the track – it just totally transports viewers directly into Muir’s deeply personal, intense, reflective world. This guy is well-known in the rich music culture of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He has travels across the Canadian rock scene, and his trip was crazy! From rankings with the Payolas to being awarded Juno’s with Barney Bentall and the Legendary Hearts, Muir has created a legacy.

The album kicks off with the song called “Show Me the Way” – a simple and mellow arrangement which sets the mood for the combination of pop, country and folk rock styles. The production of the song is equally superb with the great sound design which leans heavily towards the warm, inviting guitars and harmonious vocals.

You’ve got to checkout Barry Muir if you want music that can not only heal whatever ails you, but that it can also bring you inspiration and take you on a journey. Let’s explore the mind that was responsible for such a great album.

What is your stage name

BARRY MUIR

Is there a story behind your stage name?
I use my real name.

Where do you find inspiration?
I listen to alot of music. In my home I have a Sonos speaker in each room so there’s no excaping. It’s basically on all the time. Lots of great new artists out there as well as the classic 70’s artists where I probably get most of my inspiration from.

What was the role of music in the early years of your life?
I started playing the guitar when I was 8. Music has played a huge role in shaping my life. Without it I’m not sure what I’d be doing now. It’s helped my in a lot of ways and I’d encourage parents to not discourage their kids from wanting to learn an instrument.

Are you from a musical or artistic family?
My dad was a teacher, professional boxer, pilot. I don’t think he really had a musical bone in his body. My mother loved listening to the same music I listened to as a kid. So, no.

Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?
I think my biggest inspiration were my friends in my neighborhood that I played with as a kid. I played with kids a little older than me so I had to work really hard to match their abilities.

I think my biggest inspiration were my friends in my neighborhood that I played with as a kid.

How did you learn to sing/write/to play?
Simply starting at a very early age. Getting together with friends and jamming. Watching other kids in bands wanting to be a part of that. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been more interested in coming up with my own musical bits and lyrics rather than copying someone else’s. I guess I’ve always felt I’ve had something to say.

What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?
The first concert I ever went to that had a big impact on me was Supertramp in Saskatoon at the old arena. I stood right at the front of the stage in front of the bass player, Dougie Thompson and his bass just sounded so amazing. Each note hit me square in the chest and I remember being mesmerized by the spaces he left, pure magic. I just had to do that. The next day I went out and bought a bass.

How could you describe your music?
That’s always tough to answer. I guess it’s Americana with country, pop, rock and folk roots. There, how’s that?

Describe your creative process.
Basically I pick up my guitar and there always seems to be a few chords to play. Sometimes I jot down a few lines and even record a line or two into my iPhone. It sometimes helps to leave that for a bit and come back a little later to see if there’s anything I can add right away. It’s always been fun for me to come up with little bits.

Then I will play it for Joanne Stacey and Lucy LeBlanc, my two writing partners and see what they add. It really helps to have more than one mind working the song.

What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?
Probably the biggest problem I’ve encountered is I spent years touring North America. It’s hard when you have to balance that with having a family. Also, when you have a band of 4 or 5 personalities, it can get difficult to always feel positive about the direction the band is going in. It hasn’t been easy but I wouldn’t change a thing.

What is your stage name
Ski Babi. That’s baby with an ‘i’ at the end.

Is there a story behind your stage name?
All my friends call me ski for Drewski and it started as an inside joke. I basically said I was starting to wrap, and I wanted to use the ski Babi the Bugatti boy and I’d like harass my friends to get their opinion on it satirically.

Then, a friend of mine put on a show and doubted my abilities because I had given up DJing for years but talked a lot of shit. To spite me he made me headline the gig and asked what I wanted to be billed as I said ski Babi.

Where do you find inspiration?
Through work I work to find inspiration. The work is inspiration. There’s no such thing as finding inspiration you just have to work and trust your creative abilities. There’s no point in trying to find some sort of undefinable muse.

What was the role of music in the early years of your life?
I played drums, took lessons from the age of 8 to 17 my parents always played music in the house all genres. I got my first turntables at 13 and started producing on fruity loops the same year music always been a very pivotal part of my life.

Are you from a musical or artistic family?
No, but I’m from the family that appreciates and champions cultural creations of others in whatever form as long as they are authentic and impactful emotionally.

Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?
DJ A-Trak is the reason I asked my family for turntables when I was 13.

How did you learn to sing/write/to play?
I learned drums but outside of percussive elements. I just taught myself how to create melodies and program music digitally.

What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?
Billy Joel, I think I was nine years old.

How could you describe your music?
A culture clash where things that theoretically may seem uncomfortable together become comfortable. My music reflects my upbringing and all the countries I’ve lived in all the cultures I’ve had the privilege of experiencing.

Describe your creative process.
I kinda just fuck around on FL Studio until I get something I like.

What is your main inspiration?
The never-ending process of diving deeper into the details and possibilities to explore while creating music. Constantly challenging myself to be better, to make things that I enjoyed more than the last, to express myself and the emotion I feel more accurately than I had before.

Who do you see as your main competitor?
No one.

What are your interests outside of music?
I’m a career designer and creative marketing consultant so I have a passion for engineering solutions to creatively based business problems. Kind of nerdy, but I love doing it. besides that painting programming 3-D design fashion basically just creating anything and everything that i can.

If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?
It’s not really a music career, which is why I’m doing this interview so the way that I’ve made money is as a consult for businesses either doing logistics or creative marketing solutions.

What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?
Doing electronic music it has been my look, my general vibe. The fact that I’m not a weirdo nerd looking dude. fact that I have a buzz cut and that some weird ass hairstyle. This shit is normal in Europe, but in America, it seems like you have to look like a fucking clown to be taken seriously in electronic music, which is ironic. These DJs are whack. They are some bitch shit for real.

If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?
All the corny, American electronic music, bullshit and DJs the culture here is fucking weird. Put down the headdresses stop throwing cakes of people stop making this shit a joke. It’s patronizing to your fans to the people that actively connect to the music.

Be careful who you toss water at off stage and throw cakes at – someone in the crowd might put some shit back in the air. God forbid someone at an electronic festival would do some gangster shit though right? They’re just for drugging girls and looking like a douche bag, right? I’m being sarcastic for the record.

Why did you choose this as the title of this project?
It reminds me of my ex-girlfriend.

What are your plans for the coming months?
Promote more music put out more music play more music live. More music, less bullshit and continuing to make money and shit. also, my birthday is coming up soon, so we’ll see. I also am trying to renovate my place a bit.

Do you have any artistic collaboration plans
Yeah, with my man Soundboy Kwad once he gets out of prison, and my homeboy Terrence Allen. Just shit with people I fuck with.

What message would you like to give to your fans?
Anything is possible give everyone a chance life is great. The world is beautiful. It only gets easier. Give yourself a break sometimes because you’re doing great and you’ll always be able to figure it out. I love you.

Relax As Steve Contino Glides You Over the 'Storm'

Man, believe you me, I recommend you to have a listen at Steve Contino. he is just a master of authenticity and telling his personal experiences. It began as early as the age of six when he first met the guitar and started tapping the drums. Life took him through a myriad of directions, but music remained in his heart always.

Steve kind of existed in a dramatic situation. Everything surrounding him became one huge drama: lockdown, loose dates, house parties, theatre. In the middle of this he found himself at home, letting melodies flow and lyrics come to life. Another of those works was ‘Storm’ – a powerful song about the roughness of relationships, which was written when a rainstorm appeared out of nowhere on a sunny beach day.

Through “Storm,” Steve shares his feelings on the track, using soulful singing depicting this world where you can somewhat see the line between vulnerability and resilience.

However, Steve’s story is not just about the music in it. It has been a journey of self-discovery and perpetual growth. From playing in high school bands to striking out on his own as a singer-songwriter, every chord and each verse reveals his evolvement as an artist.

Nevertheless, dude has got his fingers in other things that are not necessarily music – like taking walks, hanging with friends, and steering a software company as the CEO. Yet in any case, he does everything in his power to be on stage and to share his music with the audiences across the globe.

So get ready to go on a journey of Steve’s creative process, the big dreams he has for his future, and all the stories behind his songwriting. He’s planning to release some new songs and remixes soon, and he’s inviting us to accompany him on a journey where he represents the splendor of human interaction through music.

OMG, guys, you must all go check out this new artist, Del’Noire! Their music is like I’ve never heard, it’s a mix of the gothic atmosphere, macabre melodies, and dark electronic beats. It is evocative and will definitely be sending chills down your spine in the best moment!

His first EP “The Haunting Of Del’Noire” just dropped and damn, it’s an experience like no other. The title song is menacing and eerie in all its layers of unsettling sounds that seem to lead you right into Del’ Noir’s haunting world. And “The Raven Stone”? Dude, the melodies on that one are totally like sourced from the Gothic nightmares but they sound good in the way that they can’t be ignored.

However, “A Strange, Bitter Kiss” is my favorite and the depth of feeling in that song is inexpressible. The verses and melodies electrify me every time. Del’Noire is exceptionally talented in shaping eerie, thrilling soundscapes that remain in your mind even after the music is no longer playing.

What makes this story more intriguing is that Del’Noire developed his passion for music because of the Bandlab app!Can you believe that? He only want to make this incredibly complex and multilayered sonic world they crafted themselves better and better. It’s like entering through a gate into a different world as each song plays.

Seriously, if you dig anything supernatural, Gothic, or ghastly, by all means, submerge yourself into “The Haunting of Del’Noire” at once. Watch out, your new addiction, Del’Noire, is waiting for you! This is ground-breaking, street-blending style that’s going to blow your mind.

What is your stage name?
It’s Del’Noire.

Is there a story behind your stage name?
Yes, there is: it’s the real-life story behind William Peter Blatty’s novel The Exorcist and its origins in St. Louis, US. It’s a story about a (possessed) thirteen-year-old boy who, in the late winter of 1949, traveled to Bel-Nor, St. Louis to have an exorcism.

The name is derived from Bel-Nor which sounds rather cool, but I did not want just to steal it but gave it a bit of extra flavor.

Where do you find inspiration?
From my mind and soul. Which is very exposed to all phenomena around us. I do not know how the inspiration works, to be honest. I just sit down and let the music flow. It comes very naturally and cannot be forced. It comes from somewhere deep within. For some reason I have noticed stressful situations can be very productive.

Like the writing process of The Raven Stone. I had (once again) suffered a burnout and channeled all the anxiety into writing music. I remember like being in fever when I crafted the song. It just burst out. It was almost a spiritual experience. A very fast one.

What was the role of music in the early years of your life?
Music was very important. My sisters were at their teens when I was born, so I was played a lot of rock music back then. It was the same thing at daycare; the boys of the family played rock music to me. So, I was into rock n’ roll before I could even read.

Are you from a musical or artistic family?
Yes. My parents used to sing a lot. As devoted members of choir. My grandparents also were choir members, and I had a chance to go to rehearsals with my granny. Which was not so rock n’ roll, but anyway…

Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?
Good question…the whole world of music, if you like. Of course, I had idols when I was younger. So, their example, as well.

How did you learn to sing/write/to play?
Almost all by myself. I went to classical guitar lessons for a year, but it was not for me. Playing sheet music written by someone else. I mean, why play someone else’s music when you have a chance to make everything by yourself?

I have a long history in bands as a drummer. And we always have played original songs. Playing cover music is something I do not understand. With all due respect to all those who find it necessary to do! No offense, whatsoever.

What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?
The first real gig I went to must have been Ray Campi somewhere in the early eighties. I was a teddy boy. For a while. Until I found Motörhead!

How could you describe your music?
It’s very melodic, melancholic and dark. Avoiding all major chords. Gothic.

Describe your creative process.
Like mentioned above, I just sit down and let the music flow. It comes very naturally and cannot be forced. It comes from somewhere deep within. There is nothing planned except the rhythm. Maybe. But usually it’s a clean slate, tabula rasa…

What is your main inspiration?
The whole universe, to be honest. The inspiration comes from somewhere, sometimes from everywhere. It’s impossible to name some certain factor. It’s a sum of phenomena, experiences and the state of mind.

What musician do you admire most and why?
A tough one…There a re so many musicians having my admiration. Well, Tommy Victor of Prong is one of my all-time favourites. I think he’s the best guitarist in the world. He also has THE sound in his voice and in his guitar.

Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?
Well, I started as Matyascorvinus, playing acoustic guitar. Now, I’m Del’Noire, an EDM-artist. However, both artists draw from the very same source: something within.

Del'Noire out with The Haunting Of Del'Noire EP,Del'Noire releases The Haunting Of Del'Noire EP,Del'Noire with The Haunting Of Del'Noire EP,Del'Noire drops The Haunting Of Del'Noire EP,The Haunting Of Del'Noire EP by Del'Noire ,The Haunting Of Del'Noire EP from Del'Noire ,Del'Noire ,The Haunting Of Del'Noire EP,Del'Noire The Haunting Of Del'Noire EP,The Haunting Of Del'Noire EP Del'Noire
Well, I started as Matyascorvinus, playing acoustic guitar. Now, I’m Del’Noire, an EDM-artist.

Who do you see as your main competitor?
Actually, none. We underground artists are all in the same position. Seeking our spot in this vast world of music. I believe in collaboration.

What are your interests outside of music?
Dogs (I have a Scottie called Lara), history books, horror films, drama series, nature, sea, animals, jogging, lifting weights, news, state of the world, domestic politics, foreign politics, deep discussions, bad humour, trying to be as good person as possible, art…in general: I seem to be interested in a bit of everything.

If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?
I would be doing the very things mentioned in previous question!

What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?
The biggest problem is the huge supply of music these days. The sheer volume of music done is overwhelming. However, its beautiful at the same time. Today, everyone has the possibility to do the very same the record companies used to do. This of course leads to massive competition. The audience cannot be interested in every artist. So, finding your own crowd is very challenging.

If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?
Music industry is industry. Industry’s interest is to make money. It’s business. An artist is an investment, meant to make profit. An artist, in principle, is a tool of a company to make profit. And if not: end of the career.

If I could change something, I would change the way some artists think about music industry. It’s not a Shangri-La. You can lose your deal, your rights to your own works, yourself. In no time. Think twice before you sign the paper.

Why did you choose this as the title of this project?
It describes the very ethos of the project. Dark themes, dark titles. Every song has a background story. A chilling one!

What are your plans for the coming months?
Let’s see how The Haunting flies! I’m always in atotally blank state after the release of my works. Takes a long time before I’m able to work again. I must get the recording out of your system. I spent six months doing The Haunting, after all. It was very exhausting time.
See, it was an experiment. To study my capabilities of doing this kind of recording. I’ve never done anything like this before. I had to learn how to do everything. So, it took a LOT of effort.

Do you have any artistic collaboration plans?
No, to be honest. I’ve been thinking it would be fun to try it out with a singer. But let’s see what future brings.

What message would you like to give to your fans?

Be human. Be good to people. Be VERY good to nature, animals and the weaker ones. Do not waste time in negativity. And do not forget to love.

Rising from the Ashes: The Unyielding Spirit of Broken Colours

You guys have to go and see this amazing new indie rock band called Broken Colours. I love their new track “Not Giving In”, this song is just fire and the message is so strong.

The track is about keeping going even through the bad times and not giving anything a chance to break you down. And what can I say about these guys; they really know how to have fun! Tony Goff, the lead singer, and Umar Arar, the guitarist have been through tremendous obstacles for them to get to where they are now in music.

Rather than giving up, they used all that emotion and perseverance to write “Not Giving In”. The lyrics is so raw and real and the tunes are crazy catchy. Are you prepared to scream those hook lines from the rooftop, even after days have passed?

Its great that Broken Colours represents the little fighter spirit of the local music scene in Buckinghamshire . Originating as just him doing his thing, they developed a solid band around his craftmanship.

And now they lead the way! Selling shows left and right, topping charts, it felt like a wild ride witnessing their rise to the top. Their live shows are as exciting as their songs! They have a lot of cheerful and powerful energy that lasts for the whole evening.

You can just taste how supportive each member is as well as their genuine devotion to the band in every Broken Colours’ tune and performance. I felt like was looking at myself in the mirror when these guys were singing about fighting for their dreams.

An upcoming EP and a UK tour in the books, just adds to the noise surrounding this new band. If you haven’t yet, this is your chance! Join the fun and jump on the bandwagon now! Let ” Not Giving In” serve as your theme song for the conquer of any life hurdles.

Singing has always been a cure or a vent for me; it’s like my medicine.

Andy Pickup – Music played a huge part in my development as a young lad, without my parents wonderful taste in music I probably wouldn’t be a musician.

Are you from a musical or artistic family?

Tony Goff – My cousin got me into the Guitar and my Father was a Painter and he loved to sing. Andy was raised in a Musical Family his Brother Featured on the Voice and his parents were in Choirs. Umar is like myself not really a musical family although his uncle was in a band.

Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?

Umar Arar – Music wise it’s evolved over 20 years as I’ve grown as a guitarist. I was initially inspired by 3 Doors Down, onto Poets of the Fall and more recently I’ve delved in to the world of progressive metal and find Periphery really inspiring to develop my abilities.

Andy Pickup – I’d say Slipknot and Tool inspired me to give it a go.

Tony Goff – Luke Prichard from The Kooks was a huge inspiration for me.

How did you learn to sing/write/to play?

Andy Pickup – School and my parents but I also I had various music teachers and took music GCSE’s

Tony Goff – Lessons as a kid Guitar/Piano, but its all just trial and error.

Umar Arar – I’m self taught for the most part, my great uncle taught me how to tune my guitar and read tabs, until I got a scholarship from Marshall amps to study at the world renowned Tech Music School (Guitar-X)

Rising from the Ashes: The Unyielding Spirit of Broken Colours

What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?

Umar Arar -my first concert was 3 Doors Down in June 2005

Andy Pickup – My first ever gig was seeing Bryan Adams at Wembley arena with my mum and David when I was 12-13 years old. But the first gig that I paid to go see was Slipknot 2002 Docklands arena with Inflames and American Head Charge as support

Tony Goff – 36 Crazyfists when I was 15,  at the O2 Oxford.

How could you describe your music?

Andy Pickup – Like being shot out of a cannon into a safety net of awesomeness

Describe your creative process.

Tony Goff – 90% of the music I write comes from living, struggle, Happiness!

So its hard for mew to force the process to much, if I do the music will suffer.

Andy Pickup – We throw shit at the wall and hope it sticks) We practice over and over again until we get it just right!

What is your main inspiration?

Tony Goff – As Umar said before his Family giving them a better life.

Music is our inspiration though we all just have music in our Blood.

What musician do you admire most and why?

Umar Arar – the musician I admire most. It’s a very hard choice but I think I’ll have to go with my band mates in this band.

Tony Goff – Me and Andy 2nd this notion ha

Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?

Tony Goff -Most definitely, when I started this project it was more acoustic singer songwriter vibes, then to a punky ish stage then to where we are now.  A lot of that was down to member changes, so with that the sound would change slightly.

Who do you see as your main competitor?

Tony Goff – We don’t, were the greatest haha, nahhhh

Tbh we don’t look at it like that no one should.  We just get really excited when we see a wicked band.

What are your interests outside of music?

Umar Ara – Interests outside of music, gaming, writing, family time.

Tony Goff – I work a lot so music is my down time, but I do love a nap and a  Sauna,  Gym.  Andy also likes to Game, and socialize with friends.

If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?

Tony Goff – What everyone else is, living a Normal life, Career man and all that.

What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?

Tony Goff – Obstacles maybe, Financial, Relationships, Saturation of the Market

As we all know its not an easy road its mostly obstacles.   But if you love the music as we do,  it doesn’t matter.

If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?

Tony Goff – There should be more help and funding for independent artists

But I wouldn’t ask the Tories.

Why did you choose this as the title of this project?

New Single Not Giving in – This songs goes back to the previous questions of obstacles and struggles, this song does what it says on the TIN – WE AINT GIVIN IN

We are back in the studio to finish recording our new EP and release later this year.  We have plans to Tour over the summer, and hitting a few Festivals along the way, Including Penn Fest.

Brotherly Resonance: Michael Bland and Sonny T's Journey with (BR)OTHERS

Funk and R&B music fans have a lot to celebrate with the debut single from (BR)OTHERS, the latest music project featuring two super talents, Michael Bland and Sonny T who were well known members of Prince’s R&B band known as the New Power Generation. Venturing into another partnership following the days of yore, the “(Br)other” song is a soulful musical document to be relished by die-hard fans whilst asserting (BR)OTHERS as a power couple still on the rise.

While Bland and T, Minneapolis natives with careers that have been widely successful in pop, rock, and Minnesota’s funk/R&B scene, (BR)OTHERS signifies a creative reunion that is both an organic product of their deep personal friendship and musical kinship. Now they have toured and recorded together with Prince as well as renowned acts such as Corey Wong and Vulfpeck, their symbiotic relationship is obvious. The project’s outer space imagery symbolizes the cosmic dimension of their musical nexus.

Bland being a drummer infused his prodigious talents both in genres while Sonny T founded his roots in local groups like Back to Black and became a perfect fit for the New Power Generation where he connected with Bland. Under the (BR)OTHERS banner on Hygh Tension Records – a great choice because the record label was founded by Ryan Smith from Soul Asylum – the message of unity and courage is ignited.

The pre-release tracks show a smooth fusion of their classic funk rhythm with updated R&B tunes and candid lyrics about their undivided love and commitment to each other. For the fans who have not seen these Minneapolis music gods in person and for the newcomers who are getting to witness their power for the first time (BR)OTHERS will leave a lasting impression.

What is your stage name

(BR)OTHERS.

Is there a story behind your stage name?

The story behind our stage name is that Sonny and i both often feel like strangers on this planet, but less alone when we’re together. Also, there’s an acknowledged psychic exchange between us, while playing together. We often read each other’s minds.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration anywhere and everywhere.

What was the role of music in the early years of your life?

The role music has played in my life, all my life, has been immeasurable.

Are you from a musical or artistic family?

I’m sort of from a musical family. My father played organ and piano in church, but his chosen profession was teaching science. When i showed aptitude for drums, he got me a set, lessons and started having me play with him during Sunday service.

Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?

Every musician i met who had something going on or at least a plan to get somewhere inspired me to get into this business and to really take it seriously.

How did you learn to sing/write/to play?

I learned how to write, play and sing mostly through observation.

What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?

The first concert i ever saw was Ray Charles. It changed me, forever.

How could you describe your music?

Message music.

Describe your creative process.

I don’t have a particular creative process, as a writer. Sometimes, i hear someone say something and it inspires a melody. Other times, i’m literally just in the loo, sitting there and I begin to hear things.. lol. Seriously, music just comes to me. My antennae is always up.

What is your main inspiration?

Love is my main inspiration.

What musician do you admire most and why?

Sonny is the musician i most admire. His imagination knows no bounds. He’s always encouraging others, musically. And, he takes all musical situations seriously, always gives his best.

Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?

I’ve definitely evolved since the beginning of my career. I’ve become less selfish and more concerned about making things work for everyone else.

Who do you see as your main competitor?

We compete only with ourselves.

What are your interests outside of music?

I’m not sure i have any real interests, outside of music. Music is my life. Everything i have has come from choosing music over everything, but God.

If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?

If i didn’t have a career in music, i’d be a full time dreamer. See what i did, there?

What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?

There are always disappointments during one’s journey in music. Staying optimistic is a constant battle.

If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?

If i could change anything about the modern music business, streaming would be outlawed.

Why did you choose this as the title of this project?

Seemed appropriate. Sounded right. The title just seemed to fit the project.

What are your plans for the coming months?

My only plans for the next few months is to make good music.

Do you have any artistic collaboration plans

Yes, there are always plans to collaborate with others. Can’t get into it really, right now.

What message would you like to give to your fans?

We love you and thanks for your continued support!

Unveiling the Soulful Depths of Dread Fury: A Musical Odyssey

In an industry that usually focuses its attention on manufactured characters, a new voice rises up – a music style that has found itself in a multification of genres and has come to be known as Dread Fury. His first song ”Underneath Your Mask” has set trends and music lovers expect this group to revolutionize the industry by presenting something that goes beyond the scope of simple categorization with an intricate and original sound.

Mixing some elements of indie, soul, blues, rock, hip hop, and funk and giving the name “IndieSoulBlues”, Dread Fury creates a surrealistic sounding experience, much like the complexities of the humankind. They are all as diverse as their muses. They are ranging from the eclectic musings of Prince to the intrinsic depth of Marvin Gaye and their creative forces behind the rhythmic groove, the soaring melody and uncompromising self-expression do not go unwrapped.

As a mastermind behind the powerfully efficient songwriting and commanding performances of Dread Fury, he has a lot of true stories to tell. The “Underneath Your Mask” single, which serves as a preview for the upcoming LP, “Devil’s Advocate or Heaven’s Prophet” – a riveting long-form concept album that tackles topics like tough realities while instilling hope – is just the first step in the long road.

The mysteric is acknowledged by Dread Fury in conversation, but it is balanced with a down-to-earth, almost pastoral humanity. Their ambitions are as lofty as their sound is genre-obliterating: to evoke the activation of self-awareness and honesty in every tune’s beneficiary. Now, as a new singles and a high-energy live show aim at burning the stages down with their powerful message, it is clear that it is the right time to let go of the masks and allow the raw emotions of true artistry take over.

For the ones getting tired of the soulless, mechanical music, Dread Fury has come to their rescue as the most powerful antidote for all those feelings. And in turn they will be confident and self-reflective, providing a soulful rock sound with which we can all connect with.

What is your stage name?

My stage name is Dread Fury

Is there a story behind your stage name?

It was derived from my hair constantly getting mistaken for dreadlocks and also from auditioning for a drummer who filmed a video referring to me as “the fury”. So I combined “dread” and “fury”, and now here we are.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration from parts of my life to reading books and listening to my favourite artists such as Prince, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, D’Angelo etc. I also draw upon the concept of Afrofuturism. I have quite a wild imagination.

What was the role of music in the early years of your life?

Music was my comfort zone. I’ve always been considered introverted or eccentric and music was the place I could go where I could express my thoughts.

Are you from a musical or artistic family?

Well not really. Though my dad said he used to play bass in a band years ago.

Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?

I don’t consider myself to be part of the music industry. I’m about making music and art as opposed. A better question would be “what inspired me to make music?” In which case, I had a dream in which Jimi Hendrix texted me to jam with him. It was bizarre but I saw it as a sign.

I don’t consider myself to be part of the music industry. I’m about making music and art as opposed.

How did you learn to sing/write/to play?

I had been singing since school and I was messing around on the drums back then to. Then I wrote my first song around 13 years old. I was just writing anything that came to mind and it was only when I got older and listened to Prince and realised he played all his instruments that I started learning other instruments such as keyboards, bass, guitar, harmonica etc. It was great.

What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?

I went to see Michael Jackson at Wembley Stadium in 1997. It was good but unfortunately he mimed for most of it. Great spectacle, nonetheless.

How could you describe your music?

I’d say it’s a combination of indie, soul, blues, rock, hip-hop and funk. I call it “IndieSoulBlues”.

Describe your creative process.

I always start with a rhythm track so that would usually be the drums or drum machine or drum programming. Then I would throw in a guitar or keyboard before adding the bass. This part is so important because what you play determines the groove. Then I will add my vocals and then I add anything else afterwards if needed. The lyrics will come but it’s really important that the vocal melody fits the track. It adds something to it.

What is your main inspiration?

I couldn’t give you a definitive answer as it really does vary from day to day.

What musician do you admire most and why?

Prince. He did everything himself and in doing so, he showed you what he was about as a musician and an artist. It was all him. The full package. And even when his popularity waned, he still did him. Like Marvin Gaye, he represented musical integrity and I’ve yet to hear an artist or band before or since that measure that.

Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?

Yes definitely. I’m a lot more confident in my ability and I try to spend more time refining my style. I’m now at the stage where I can say that my style is fully realised.

Who do you see as your main competitor?

No one. Music is not a competition. Anyone who says otherwise shouldn’t be making music. It sounds harsh but that’s what I genuinely believe.

What are your interests outside of music?

I love to read and I love to write. I like to walk and explore too.

If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?

I’d probably be a writer. I also do support work with vulnerable young adults.

What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?

How long have you got? Hahaha. But seriously, I hate dealing with egotistical musicians. I’ve been to many open mics where some artists take themselves way too seriously. I also hate dealing with people telling me “Oh, you should collaborate with this person or that person.” It’s really irritating and it also shows a lack of appreciation for the artist’s journey.

If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?

Let artists and bands make the music and get paid what they deserve.

Why did you choose this as the title of this project?

“Underneath Your Mask” is a track from my upcoming album and it was chosen as it tells the story of someone who won’t reveal their true self. We all try and hide under some sort of mask and choose what we reveal. The new album is called “Devil’s Advocate or Heaven’s Prophet” and it is called that because it shows the duality of humans. Which one are we? Or are we both? It’s great.

What are your plans for the coming months?

I plan to release a few more singles, release the album and then play a few live shows as well. It’s going to be very busy.

Do you have any artistic collaboration plans

I work with a friend who is a cello player and appears on my album. Other than that, I’m not a fan of collaborations. I feel they are overrated in my opinion and not everyone is built to collaborate. If it feels right, then it will work. They shouldn’t be forced.

What message would you like to give to your fans?

Do whatever you want to do. There are no limits and make sure it makes you happy. A resilient mind is the strongest tool ever.

Discovering "No Hard Feelings": The Project's Rock-Pop Marvel!
Discovering "No Hard Feelings": The Project's Rock-Pop Marvel!

In this symphony of controlled chaos, The Project’s “No Hard Feelings” is a delightful fusion of classic hard rock and pop rock. It’s like Hendrix met Toto at a Beatles concert. With James Davis’ electrifying guitar solos that surprise you like spontaneous thunder on a clear day to Jeff Plant’s masterfully tear-evoking vocals which resonate in your heart like an old lover’s whisper.

Bonter disrupts the tranquility with the rhythmic ferocity of his drumming — it hits you in waves, much akin to Jackson Pollock reincarnated onto an unseen canvas: tangible yet enigmatic. Juxtaposition finds home here as melodies interweave randomness and harmony, concocting auditory wonderment –the sound equivalent to witnessing star constellations amidst city lights.

“No Hard Feelings” manages to marry perplexity with catchy hooks so effortlessly; it’s almost uncanny – harking back days when MTV played music and tracks were anthems not just tunes for TikTok virality.

Despite the assemble being new on LA’s supergroup scene, they seem seasoned as Olympian gods – grappling lightning bolt guitars emitting sonic psalms interspersed by climax-building pop-imbued lyrics that stand out in stark defiance against today’s autotuned normalcy.

The Project seems surprisingly intriguingly familiar—a comforting unpredictability kindling nostalgia whilst teasing novelty—hard rock meets pop-rock shaping something quite extraordinarily captivating… yes indeed! “No Hard Feelings” but great feeling awaits as ‘The Project’ demonstrates how truly adept they are at creating marvelous musical paradoxes!

Dylan Galvin's Acoustic Homage “Norwegian Wood” Reimagined

Dylan Galvin revives a sacred grove of bygone sentiments with his acoustic folk-pop ode to “Norwegian Wood.” This cover is both tribute and tapestry, weaving nostalgia into new seams, stitching together the simplicity of The Beatles’ evocative storytelling with the grandeur of a cinematic slow burn. As if plucking heartstrings in an ethereal forest, Galvin conjures haunting homage that ghostly dances between John Mayer’s guitar murmurs.

Bathed in Austin Moorhead’s production finesse and Harper James’ mixing wizardry, Galvin architecturally builds from solitary acoustics to orchestral crescendos – each layer as intricately placed as a sonnet’s syllables. But never does it engulf you quickly; rather like evening sun kissing your face goodbye as shadows play on woodland whispers.

Erupting finally into an electrifying solo à la Mayer while retaining unmistakable Lennon-McCartney lyricism: this track resonates with compelling paradoxesᅳtimeless yet fresh; serene yet stirring. Ready for YouTube unveiling on April 26th – be there or be square.

Critics? They might say this version splashes modern hues onto The Beatles’ canvas with reverence and audacity. Fans will agreeᅳthis is no mere replay but more akin to conversing at Abbey Road Studio over coffee… 50 years apart.

"Anxiety is Killing My Dreams": Ysabel's Raw Debut Spell

Casting a spell of raw vulnerability with her debut album, “Anxiety is Killing My Dreams”, indie-pop solo sensation Ysabel unleashes an auditory chiaroscuro. The record amalgamates the grit and glitter, mixing genres such as soul and pop-rock embodying perplexity beautifully.

Anxieties manifest into melodies, heartbeats sync to rhythms in this sonic biography where Ysabel’s voice dances like a feather in dystopian winds. The collaboration with London-based producer Ben Loveland adds certain fluidity to the sparkling events; each note resembles constellations designed on music sheet space-time fabric.

Halos of themes set around personal growth against black community representation out-shine even Orion himself – it’s akin to Nina Simone jamming with Billie Eilish amidst celestial metaphors. One can’t help but slip into reveries tracing personal experiences meeting public expressions.

Her previous release “trigger” tilled the soils for this crop while her current oeuvre blossoms transcending genres and time-lines alike – melancholic symphonies entwined with keys from baroque era waltzing gracefully towards contemporary electro-pop beats.

In short: It’s Jackson Pollock meets Beethoven at crossroads of Erykah Badu’s soulful street. A chaotic yet captivating masterpiece!

Dancing techno dolphins bathing in rock rivers, lying on pop lily pads; That’s Magnus & John, confusingly coherent. “Snowbirds” EP is a fractal Fibonacci puzzle sculpted in sound waves – it’s rock pretending to be pop while flirting with techno at the next table.

The duo-backboned orchestra hits you like a mirthful tornado of kaleidoscopic feathers from every conceivable bird, and more. Magnus Peterson plays guitar as if he has 13 phantom fingers, painting auditory Monets and Pollocks without pretension while John Portier orchestrates a delirious bass ballet under an electrifying thunderstorm of drums — both auto-programmed marvelously.

Rene Russell's "STAND for the Ocean": A Musical Battle Cry

Stirring through the multilayers of Rene Russell’s latest release, “STAND for the Ocean”, a Mike Tyson punch in an Iron Man suit.

From first strum, her poignant acoustics and raw heart-woven lyricals marrying Americana-Folk-Rock with undertones whispering back to the 60s’ activism era is like Joan Baez rendezvousing with Bob Dylan in this cosmic music timeline. It screams ‘Revolt!’ yet lovingly encases you in its verdant cocoon – speaking volumes about our environmental kinship gone awry.

Her voice sails across songscape with the fierce virtue of Mother Earth herself, rising and falling like ocean tides under moon’s watchful gaze. Revoicing multiple global dialogues on societal fault-lines into sonorous battle-cries – it invigorates even passive note collectors flitting through today’s fast-cycling music sphere towards immediate action. A sanguine prelude, if one might say, to her upcoming album Fall 2024.

As perplexed as it is straight-shooting this eco-resistance soundscape compels audial surfboarding amidst turbulent socio-environmental tempestuousness whilst injecting much-needed tranquility via smooth mixing magic.

Merging somewhere between the mystic crossroads of Delta Slide Blues, Roots Rock and whimsical Americana Folk-Rock, The HiHearts’s debut release ‘SWIM’ douses listeners in bountiful swirls of narrative color. The ingenious musical brainchild of Heidi Holton, Bridget Gossett, and Rene Russell emerged from a curious songwriter round-collaboration. A mystical sacredness pervades their cooperative quill: lyrically profound as ancient scripture but melodically fresh like the first dew on summer morning grass. Ethereal Depths: Exploring Maya Salafia's "Swim"
Ethereal Depths: Exploring Maya Salafia's "Swim"

“Swim,” the latest sonic ripple from Maya Salafia, is a paradox-shaped vinyl spinning on an indie-pop carousel. At first blush, it may seem like your garden-variety love anthem—dig deeper; you’ll find it’s as rich and surprising as biting into a chocolate truffle only to discover it’s also filled with pop rocks.

Salafia weaves her vocal threads through the loom of autonomy and affection with such dexterity that you’re left wondering if she’s embroidering a tapestry or picking apart the very fabric. Produced by Brad Young alongside Renaissance multi-instrumentalist Owen Korzec, “Swim” dips its musical toes in velvety folk waters while flirting dangerously with pop sensibilities.

What strikes most about this record is its familiar unfamiliarity—as though Joni Mitchell had decided to saunter through Halsey’s dreamscape armed with nothing but ethereal vocals and defiantly tender lyrics on fear and vulnerability. It’s less of swimming upstream against the current of heartache and more a lesson in floating atop complex emotional undercurrents, marveling at their depth.

Maya holds court over every note—a queen navigating her independence amongst kingdoms of chords plucked right from raw sentimentality. The energy here doesn’t just tug at heartstrings; it plays them like a symphony orchestra-conducted upon shooting stars’ trajectories.

Short yet profound, “Swim”‘s tide ebbs flows between introspection shores pushing listeners gently towards contemplative seas – pick up those metaphorical seashells—the ones oft overlooked—they’ve got stories nestled within their spiral echoes! This tune? A starfish outstretched across summer skies worth replaying until winter’s chill demands new warmth.

Timeless Grooves: Fugu Quintet’s “Interweavement”

Timeless Grooves: Fugu Quintet's "Interweavement"
Timeless Grooves: Fugu Quintet's "Interweavement"

Listening to Fugu Quintet’s “Interweavement” is like stumbling into a speakeasy where Salvador Dali is explaining quantum physics to a jazz-loving chameleon – it’s that peculiar and vivid. As if plucked from a murky urban dreamscape, the album swims in shadows with flashes of neon saxophones wailing against the backbeat of an uncertain yet resolute drum.

In this mystifying fusion, dark jazz meets progressive rock in dimly lit alleyways, dancing clumsily yet gracefully like two strangers who found romance among discarded newspapers blowing down endless city streets. Each track feels like another layer peeled from the surreal onion of our existence—thematic glimpses into humanity’s ridiculous pageantry and soul-stirring melancholy.

The band may be anonymous—a collection of phantoms—but their music tells stories more personal than names on an album cover could ever convey; tales woven throughout nocturnal soundscapes that make time irrelevant. Released amid turmoil and now trapped in amber due to conflict, “Interweavement” remains defiantly alive, timeless within its grooves—a record holding its breath for peace while refusing silence during war.

Timeless Grooves: Fugu Quintet's "Interweavement"
Timeless Grooves: Fugu Quintet’s “Interweavement”

To say that Fugu Quintet’s latest offering speaks volumes is an understatement—it shouts across rooftops draped in velvet night skies as it echoes through empty subways. It blurs lines between epoch and genre: you’ll hear echoes reminiscent of Miles Davis’ darker moods shadowboxed by Pink Floyd’s conceptual daring.

In sum, “Interweavement” isn’t just music but a stirringly bizarre expedition across emotional terrains too often left uncharted—captivating precisely because you’re never quite sure which direction you’re being led next.

Confronting Demons: Dax's "Dear Alcohol" MEGA REMIX
Confronting Demons: Dax's "Dear Alcohol" MEGA REMIX

In a sonic kaleidoscope of heartache and distilled dreams, “Dear Alcohol” MEGA REMIX spawns from Dax’s well of visceral confessionals, threading through the Tik-Tok open-verse jungle to hand-pick a battalion of twelve truth-sayers. Each artist serves as an emotional courier; their verses stretch like grappling hooks into the cavernous belly of addiction.

The track is a mosaic – not just music, but raw narratives plastered against a backdrop where easy listening hip-hop meets group therapy session. Atlus’ bars ripple with vulnerability while Kelsie Watts threads soulful notes between verses like silk through denim. SkyDxddy delivers punches that land silky as last call shots, Phix distorts reality with dizzying wordplay. Kayla Rae dissolves genres as RVSHVD’s Southern charm reflects on rural escapism. Erv Ello crackles with street wisdom when Thagreatwhite growls out shadows from half-empty bottles and AK etches intricate lines akin to carved oak stories—with other great artists, we’re lost in this tapestry!

Confronting Demons: Dax's "Dear Alcohol" MEGA REMIX
Confronting Demons: Dax’s “Dear Alcohol” MEGA REMIX

As you stagger rhythmically through this musical panorama, each chapter harmonizes under Dax’s orchestration—his own voice echoing like a preacher amidst the choir—to deliver one clear sermon: we’ve all got demons snug in our spirits smeared across our nights.

This isn’t just another track—it’s communion for those tattooed by intoxication’s ghostly fingers; it’s spinning directly onto personal playlists and top-tier interventions alike—a necessary paradox only music could conjoin gracefully.

A symphony soaked in both despair and hope echoes long after silence falls post-play; “Dear Alcohol” MEGA REMIX shimmers tragically beautiful—an auditory testament that’ll live rent-free inside heads and over liquor-laden breaths whispering, ‘just one more listen.

Cardio for Your Soul: The Exhales' "Kick the Chair"

Imagine if a storm cloud turned into a rock show—that’s “Kick the Chair” by The Exhales. This Glasgow quartet, thundering into the alt-rock scene, offers their third single as an unapologetic roar dripping in Scot angst and candied with genius melodic hooks that make even the darkness feel light.

The band wields their instruments like axes chopping at the thick bark of mental anguish and suburban entrapment. Forget what you knew about Alternative Rock; think Nirvana meets Bastille on a spree through moss-covered castles where spirits harmonize with guitar strings.

“Kick the Chair,” produced by maestro Bruce Rintoul, brings anthemic notions to your eardrums—this isn’t just music; it’s cardio for your soul. Crank up these Scottish rockers; let those heavier-than-air drums carry away despair while those harrowing riffs resurrect pure joy from its ashes! Each lyric seems engraved in purpose—a manifesto against stagnancy peppered over earworm central!

In concise eloquence: The Exhales blow minds yet soothe pain—an auditory paradox flying high above small towns into universal radio waves. A superb follow-up eagerly awaiting playlist dominance.
