With ‘Smoked a Cigarette Instead,’ a US/UK band known as Monroe Moon stunned the listeners once more. In just another example of how such styles can be interwoven to create excellent music, this song combines old with new sounds and has the feeling of a classic warm tune.
During an interview with Monroe Moon they gave us their moniker and their daily inspiration. To them, it is a daily meditation when composing songs because they draw their inspirations from day to day occurrences and this is how they express their appreciation to life.
Monroe Moon shared how they have evolved since they began. They will aim at improving and increasing their success with each project that they undertake. Their biggest worry is about marketing themselves. It’s not easy for them.
They would transform ego-based rivalry that pervades the music industry if they were able to rewrite history since music is meant for unity and not separation.
Their upcoming plan is exciting! They are just about done putting down the new tracks, expecting to have them pressed on vinyl for mid year in 2024. The fact that they are also eager for a music project in Detroit is plus.

What is your stage name
What is your main inspiration?
My personal inspiration comes from the endless effort of allowing myself to be inspired by the everyday, through active gratitude and curiosity. Writing music is a meditation for me. It is an unfiltered exercise of self love and love of life.
What musician do you admire most and why?
I admire so many musicians, but right now I’m really in awe of Damon Albarn. I love how he seems unstoppable and free flowing. The music he is making has the same delicious aroma, but always collaborative so as to have a distinctive new taste. As an artist who actively seeks to collaborate with each new project, I find a lot of inspiration from what he does.
Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?
Absolutely! I would hope so! And I hope I never stop! Every project is made more interesting and fun for me because I am growing and learning.
Who do you see as your main competitor?
My inner critic.
What are your interests outside of music?
The praxis of living in truth and moving in freedom.
If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?
I’m a homebody and a hobby homesteader. I would just be gardening and cooking and tending animals.
What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?
Self Promotion and how painful it is.
If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?
Inflated egos and those who seek to move by negative competition
Why did you choose this as the title of this project?
Just makes sense…
What are your plans for the coming months?
Monroe Moon will be wrapping up recording and production on just a couple more tracks. The project will then be pressed on vinyl and released mid 2024 (fingers crossed) We really are excited to see it all come together and get it out to our fans.
Do you have any artistic collaboration plans
We will be working on a new Detroit based collaboration and musical residency for most of 2024. We are really excited to see what blossoms from this next endeavor in Detroit. How will our stage performance evolve? What this new musical recipe will sound like?
What message would you like to give to your fans?
I Love you all so much! You make me blush! Thank you!!!
