Take Me There: A Journey Into Roman Cigi’s HEAVENUS

Roman Cigi’s latest track HEAVENUS feels like stepping into another dimension. Right from the start, it pulls you into a space that’s both powerful and calming all at once. Built carefully like a puzzle, HEAVENUS came to life through pure instinct, raw emotion, and years of sound design expertise, letting feeling lead the way instead of rigid rules.

Created in Ableton Live using Roman’s own handcrafted sounds and samples, the track delivers a thrilling, adrenaline-charged energy that lingers long after it ends. But HEAVENUS goes beyond being just another techno track.

For Roman, it represents breaking free from the ordinary, reaching a limitless place where stress fades and peace takes control. With its beautifully simple vocal line, “Take me there,” the song becomes a genuine invitation to pause, release, and discover light within the chaos.

In this interview, Roman Cigi opens up about the story, emotion, and creative vision driving HEAVENUS.

ROMAN CIGI, HEAVENUS has this otherworldly vibe that pulls you right in. What sparked the idea for this track, and what heavenly chaos were you tapping into?
When I’m creating a new track, most of the time there’s no name for it; it just appears once I start putting pieces together and the track begins to take shape. It’s like a puzzle.

This was the case when the name HEAVENUS was born during the music production, as the song started to give me hints and ideas. Sometimes it’s like a dream; it comes from nowhere. HEAVENUS is a perfect fit for what’s going on in the track: music elements, effects, synths, melody, and mainly that weird, slightly adrenaline-filled feeling while listening to it.

The energy in HEAVENUS feels like a cosmic ride! How did you build that dreamy, uplifting sound in the studio?
Yes! The track was produced in my go-to DAW, Ableton Live, and the sounds and samples you hear are from my own curated sample library and years of sound design work. There were no templates or rules for creating this track; for me, the main guide was my ears and feelings to ensure each sample, effect, and element had its place in the track.

HEAVENUS is such a bold, intriguing title! Is it about chasing paradise, love from above, or something totally out there?
I think everybody perceives a song differently, which is good—you should feel something. If you have no idea what this is all about, to guide the listener a bit: to me, HEAVENUS is an escape from the known. By being “more than above the universe,” it becomes a place completely outside of the known cosmos and its limitations. It’s a refuge from the chaos and complexities of life, a final space where all worries and struggles cease to exist.

This interpretation of HEAVENUS makes it a powerful symbol for something intensely personal and profoundly meaningful. It’s a place you can create and define entirely on your own terms. It’s not about an afterlife or a deity; it’s about finding ultimate peace within yourself.

When you hit record on HEAVENUS, what moment made your heart race and told you this was something special?
The moment my heart raced didn’t come at the start—it hit when the track revealed its emotional core. As I layered the main melody, everything clicked, and the mysterious fragments turned into a full, immersive story. I knew right then—this wasn’t just another techno track; it was something deeper.

The real thrill came when I added an unexpected synth near the end. It transformed everything and gave me chills. That’s when I realised HEAVENUS wasn’t just a track—it was an experience, a sonic journey with its own identity, unlike anything else on Spotify.

Fans are already obsessed. What do you hope HEAVENUS stirs up in listeners feeling lost or searching for light?
Music has always been my way of finding light when everything else feels heavy, and I hope HEAVENUS can do the same for someone else. I want it to be a musical refuge—a place to step away from what’s weighing you down and just exist in the sound.

If someone’s feeling lost or searching, I hope it gives them a moment to breathe—maybe on a night drive, or at 3 AM when the world feels too much. I hope HEAVENUS reminds them there’s still something beautiful to hold onto.

Dropping HEAVENUS feels like a game-changer. What bold move did you make with the lyrics or beats to make it unforgettable?
The heart of HEAVENUS is that vocal hook: ‘Take me there’. I wanted it to feel like an invitation—or even a command. My bold move was keeping it simple, not cluttering the track with extra lyrics, and trusting the melody, drums, and synths to carry the emotion.

I focused on high-energy, peak-time elements so that when the vocal drops, the room—or the listener—feels the shift. It’s about creating a moment, not just a song. Everything clicks together to make the track immersive and unforgettable.

Picture HEAVENUS blasting in a movie. What epic scene or late-night adventure do you see it powering?
Two visions come to mind.

On the epic side, I see a cinematic moment where everything hangs in the balance—a lone figure moving forward as the world collapses around them, debris frozen in slow motion. Others follow. When the melodic line drops, wings spread, the camera pulls back, and everything lifts. Pure transcendence, echoing the HEAVENUS artwork.

On a more intimate level, I see a late-night drive at 2 or 3 AM. Empty highway, windows down. Someone escaping or searching, letting the city fall away behind them. The track builds, and there’s that quiet moment where they finally let go.

How does HEAVENUS fit into your world? Does it open the door to more celestial sounds ahead?
HEAVENUS really captures where my head’s at right now. It has this atmospheric, emotional vibe that felt right to explore, but I’m not locking myself into one sound—every track has its own energy and purpose.

If anything, HEAVENUS opens things up for me. It highlights my fascination with atmospheric and otherworldly sounds, but the next track could go in a completely different direction. I just follow whatever pulls me creatively.

For the deep listeners, what’s one line or drop in HEAVENUS that spills the most about your soul right now?
For me, the moment that really spills my soul in HEAVENUS is captured in the simple line: “Take Me There.” It’s that point in the track where all the noise, pressure, and chaos from the world fade away, and all I’m searching for is peace of mind. That phrase carries the release I feel, the escape from everything overwhelming—a personal corner within the music.

To close it out, how have fans’ reactions to HEAVENUS fueled your next creative spark?
The response so far has been amazing. Just knowing people are connecting with HEAVENUS—even if it’s just a few—fuels everything. It makes me want to dive deeper into these sounds and see where I can take them next. I’ve got projects in the works, and this reaction reminds me to trust my instincts and keep creating what feels real.
