Some songs take time to win you over, but River Of Light by My Glass World grabs you from the very first second! This new single from the British indie-rock duo arrives with incredible energy and a clear sense of purpose that makes it impossible to ignore. It also marks an exciting fresh direction, stepping away from the darker and heavier sound of their recent work.
What makes this even more special is the story behind it. The song was originally written during the Covid period as part of an unreleased album. Now given a new perspective and a well-deserved moment in the spotlight, River Of Light finally gets to shine.
At four minutes and forty five seconds, the track builds beautifully and naturally. Layered keyboards create a warm and dreamy atmosphere, while guitar textures from Little Barrie add gentle color. Jon Kensington on bass and Martyn Kaine on drums keep everything moving with a steady and satisfying rhythm. Jamie Telford’s calm vocals blend perfectly with the music, and Sean Read’s harmonies add wonderful depth.
River Of Light captures motion, emotion, and hope all at once. It is a stunning reminder of just how good My Glass World truly are!

Jamie, River Of Light feels like pure motion and hope – what made now the perfect time to dust off this unreleased Covid album track and let it shine?
Well I always seem to have a lot of material kicking about and there was definitely a need for “River of Light” to be out in the universe as it’s a great track
Jamie Telford calls it deserving to be heard – switching from darker vibes to this upbeat, expansive flow. How does it stand out in your catalog?
As a part of an interesting album that should have been released but Covid got in the way.
The sound moves with purpose – melodic, rhythmic, forward-leaning. What lyrics or riff capture that “light in motion” energy best for you?
I like the couplets “ Anthemic orphans to fugitive storms, as words from the ether float on the wind”

Killer lineup at Famous Times Studios: you on vocals/keys/guitars, Sean Read backing, Jon Kensington on bass, Martyn Kaine drums, Little Barrie guitars. How did they lift this song to life?
All these guys add a lot musically and structurally.. It was lovely to get Little Barrie along as I hadn’t worked with him before and he has prepared what he’d like to play. Jon/Martyn and Sean know what to do – it’s an unspoken empathy.
Written in isolation, now hitting Luxury Noise Records. What’s the thrill of a track once set aside finding its place in 2026?
The thrill is knowing it finally found a place. It could just have sat there.
Video’s got city lights, flowing traffic, ferris wheels, fireworks – all that glow in motion. How did those visuals match the song’s renewed relevance?
There are some obvious metaphors, relating back on the lyrical content about relationship dreams.
Retaining your signature atmosphere and lyrical directness but with uplift. If fans know your darker propulsion, what’s the big “aha” moment here?
In the last verse I say “The city never stops on its way to winter” followed two lines later with “we can be together.” Realism tinged with yearning I’d say.
From Covid lockdown writing to present-day release – how has your perspective on the song evolved since those uncertain times? Simply to realise it was a better track than perhaps I thought at the time.
Stands independently, thoughtful yet immediate. For new listeners stumbling on River Of Light, where should they dive next in My Glass World’s world?
Go back through the last 4 albums.. I think there’s something for everyone.
Energy continuing even in tough times – what’s next for My Glass World after unleashing this river of light?
A new album will see the light later in the year.. the work never stops…
