The Chakra Symphony is no ordinary album. A thrilling musical tour of the 7 main chakras, conveyed by sound, rhythm and melody. It combines contemporary world music, sound healing, soothing ambient sounds and massive, film-like orchestrations, to provide listeners with a one-of-a-kind musical and spiritual journey.
Each movement is unique, based on the chakra it is based on. The music starts with the base chakras and then ascends gradually up the chakras towards the peaceful and thoughtful Sahasrara, where the listener gradually enters a state of transcendence. The last song, A New World, ends the album nicely and makes the whole big picture come together.
The sound is strong and retained. It’s played with bowls, gongs, didgeridoo, harp, fretless bass, piano, analog synthesizers and layered vocals. The instruments used were selected by the composer’s instinct, his musical experience and his thorough knowledge of the seven chakras. The album is designed to be used in more than one context. Listen during meditation, yoga or quiet time of reflection, and it fits in right in there.
The Chakra Symphony is really a music roadmap for years of exploring music and spirituality. Its creator describes it as a calling, a coming together of all experience of life. The album is all about the feel, the vibrations, and the positives – it’s an invitation to get lost in the music and to find out what it has to offer you.

The Chakra Symphony is more than a collection of songs; it is described as a continuous inner journey. What inspired you to create the album as one connected experience rather than a conventional album?
Yes, this is surely not a common album. It’s a journey into the seven main chakras, with their energy, correlations, and connections with all that is life, both inside and outside us. This journey is made possible through the union of sound healing baths and contemporary world music, and was inspired by my experimentation with sound healing as a musician and spiritual researcher.
The album takes listeners through the seven main chakras, from Muladhara to Sahasrara, before closing with A New World. How did you approach giving each movement its own musical identity while keeping the entire album connected?
Every tune has its own individual identity, really, because it is entirely inspired by its corresponding chakra, starting from the root note, upon which the key is developed, along with all the musical elements, such as tempo, rhythm, melody, harmony, lyrics, and arrangements. At the same time, the entire album is obviously connected by the same composer, the same vision of the work, and the coherence of the ensemble. All these aspects come together to create what we call “the sound.”
Sound, vibration and their relationship with the body and consciousness are central to The Chakra Symphony. How has your experience with music, sound baths and spiritual practices shaped the way you composed this album?
I don’t think I can answer this question in a conventional way. I can only say that it did, and it did so in a way that seems incredible to me. I think this is part of the marvellous mystery of life that everyone carries within themselves.

The album combines world music, ambient textures, cinematic composition, meditation and ritual-inspired soundscapes. What made you want to bring these different musical elements together in The Chakra Symphony?
While creating this work, I kept my focus on one goal: bringing the emotional and evocative power of melody, rhythm, and harmony into a sound bath. So, it was easy for me to choose the qualities of the instruments and the arrangements. The different musical elements I brought into this work are obviously the ones I considered most appropriate for that goal and, first and foremost, they belong to my musical experience and vision.
From low-frequency drones and primal percussion in Muladhara to the more contemplative atmosphere of Sahasrara, the album follows a gradual movement from grounding to transcendence. What did you want listeners to experience emotionally and spiritually as they move through this journey?
Yes, that’s the goal of this work: to experience all the energy of life, starting from grounding and ending with transcendence. I am sure that everyone is going to experience what they need or are ready for, as this music will stimulate their bodies and energy fields.
Bowls, gongs, didgeridoo, harp, fretless bass, analog synthesizers, piano and layered vocals all form part of the album’s sound. How did you choose these instruments and sounds to represent the different stages of the chakra journey?
The bowls were chosen as real musical instruments, each playing a part within the harmony aligned with the chakra itself. In general, I can say that every instrument playing melody, harmony, and rhythm can arouse emotions and feelings, and describe something. I mostly used my intuition and experience with the seven chakras to make my choices throughout the tracks, and this, I have to say, came very spontaneously and clearly to me.
The Chakra Symphony brings together ancient spiritual concepts with contemporary production and composition. How did you balance the traditional and modern sides of the album without losing the meaning behind its spiritual foundation?
Did I? I’ll have to think about that, as I really don’t know how I did it. Surely, I was guided by my musical background and life experience, and I think I could not lose sight of the meaning of its spiritual foundation, as this is, for me, the main focus of the entire project.
You have a background as a musician, composer, luthier and sound researcher. How did your understanding of wood, resonance, vibration and silence influence the musical world you created for The Chakra Symphony?
I think sensitivity cannot truly be explained or expressed; it can only be experienced. All our life experiences contribute to who we are. I really don’t see a direct connection between crafting wooden instruments and creating such a musical project, but I am sure that everything we experience blends with other aspects of our lives.
The album can be experienced as a concert work, meditation piece, sound-healing experience or companion for yoga and other practices. Did you have a particular listening experience in mind when you first began creating the project?
No, I didn’t, as I see this musical work as something truly unique. Surely, all my musical influences and experiences have led me to this sound, with its own character and vision.
The Chakra Symphony represents years of musical and spiritual exploration and brings your research into a wider artistic project. Looking at the completed album today, what does it mean to you personally, and what would you like listeners to carry with them after experiencing it?
I see this work as a main path, a calling that integrates every single experience of my life, and I’d like listeners to carry with them all the positive vibrations I brought into it.
