Yhu Kira Released His Debut EP Dubbed “Petit Prince”

Yuran Obam, better known as Yhu Kira, was born on August 14, 1996, in Libreville, Gabon. He is a painter, novelist, singer, and performer and was raised in Port-Gentil, Gabon, and then moved to France for college, where he worked as a journalist.

At the age of 19, he departed for an exchange programme in Frankfurt, Germany to pursue his passion for painting, which had been put on hold as a child since his father didn’t envision a future for him in this sector.

Upon his return, he found that he had rediscovered his love for art. Once in Belgium, he rediscovered his love of writing, as well as traditional Gabonese rhythms, Congolese rumba, and Caribbean music. On his networks, he debuted the first project in 2018, and he’ll be back in 2020 with three new singles: SeulTout est noir, and Ciel.

His visual environment is always evolving, including fashion, staging, and Afro-futurism to reflect his evolving identity. For his debut EP Petit Prince, the musician reveals his love for music, melody and writing after the release of the single Oublier in November 2021. In this first episode of seven tracks, we see how Prince Charming’s little son, the Young Prince, is able to fly.

In the year 2022, Yhu Kira released his first EP, Petit Prince. This year, the artist, who debuted the song Oublier in late 2021, continues its launch by introducing us to his cosmos. Demon and Balayer are two of the seven songs on this album, which has Afropop rhythms and dancehall in the tunes.

We can hear the influence of Gabonese reggae and urban music from 2000 in the tracks Ciel Baby and Serpent by Yhukira. An acoustic version of Oublier has French music as a theme. Yhu Kira, a Gabonese performer, introduces us to a hymn honouring the arrival of the Little Prince, with Senegalese artist Combé So.

The artist’s rallying cry is “Give me back my wings,” and he plans on doing as many concerts as possible in 2022 to achieve that goal. This year, the visuals for the tunes Ciel, Démon, and Serpent are ready, allowing the artist to be present throughout the year. A new Yhu Kira single, Millions, is set for release in September of 2022.
