“I’ve always loved people. I’ve always wanted to leave an impact on people through music. I want my music to bring people together,” Wyn Starks says. “I want it to create this feeling of love and acceptance and creativity. I want it to spark all these emotions in people, because when I hear good music, Ifeel it.”
After the release of his debut album Black is Golden wyn Starks has always made sure he lives to his expectations. His songwriting skills are top notch while his singing is versatile, although Starks is a pop singer, he blends other genres to send a message of love across.
The EP Who I Am, which was released in 2020, featured a musician whose music is both intimate and encompassing. The album’s diverse musical selection, which includes gospel ballads, rhythmic bangers, soul standards, and sparkling pop choruses, enhances its emphasis on diversity while simultaneously serving as a rallying cry for people of color and an open invitation to dance for people of all races.
Wyn starks presented his own song “Who I Am” in honor of his late twin brother on this season of America’s Got Talent (AGT) in order to share portions of his personal story and his distinct singing talents with America and the rest of the globe. A unanimous “yes” from the panel of judges sent him into the semi-finals. The judge’s response was immediate, unequivocal, and poignant, bringing Sofia Vergara to tears and eliciting two standing ovations from the crowd.
Who I am is the 7th song on his debut album, and has over 1 million plays on Spotify alone, this is no wonder as the lyrics are relatable and cut across genres, with people from all backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences… After the performance on AGT starks felt relieved, for being able to share his brother’s favourite song with the world and they accepted the music and loved it as well.
All these are just talks if you don’t hear the song. Enjoy Who I am by Wyn Starks
