The Magnettes Created A “Monster” In This New Single

Pajala trio The Magnettes, have come out with this new “Monster” of a song made for your listening pleasure.

“Monster” is a bass-driven new wave anthem that incorporates doo-wop choruses, vintage synthesizers, razor-sharp horns, and organic throwback beats.

Singer Rebecka Digervall states that “Monster” is about that flirting, sensual, agonizing stage where it’s like “will-they-won’t-they?” You’re a nervous wreck, trying to hide your emotions, but they’re getting the best of you.

Martin Hlin filmed a 1950s small-screen noir video for the tune, showcasing their flair for quirky retro aesthetics and dramatic images.

The Magnettes are a Swedish band from Pajala that have performed in 19 countries, including SXSW, Summerfest, Canadian Music Week, Golden Melody Awards, Eurosonic, and Tallinn Music Week.

In 2017, they released their first album “Ugly Youth,” which included the singles “Sad Girls Club,” which was featured on Netflix’s “Elite,” and “Young And Wild,” which was one of the top ten most-played Swedish songs on national radio that year.

Throughout the summer, fall, and winter of 2020, their track “American” was played on the radio. Listen to it below and don’t forget to follow them on social media via @TheMagnettes on all platforms.
