Sofia Karlberg Returns With ‘Hold My Love’ EP

The songs on Hold My Love EP by Sofia Karlberg are never-before-heard tales of love, heartbreak, and the power of music.

The Swedish-Moroccan musician Karlberg pushes her own limits in terms of what music is for her by combining electronic components with pop arrangements and topline melodies influenced by Morocco. Karlberg is of Swedish and Moroccan descent.

In addition to that, it’s about her telling her life narrative via music for her. This EP is a representation of her history, including her experiences, sentiments at the current moment, and her future self-consciousness.

Sofia Karlberg’s New Music Is Specially Made “Just For You”

The journey of this EP started when I was contemplating what to do next, not only musically but in general with my life. The pandemic forced a lot of us to dig deep, ask ourselves questions we might not want to know the answers to and to revalue our purposes. I realized I needed to stand on new grounds so I decided to move to Berlin from my hometown Stockholm

Karlberg first came to public recognition with his cover versions of songs such as “Crazy in Love” by Beyoncé and “Paris” by the Chainsmokers. These covers were instrumental in Karlberg amassing around two million followers on YouTube.

With the release of her Spotless Mind EP in 2019, Karlberg made the transition to releasing original music.

Since then, she has amassed more than 1.5 billion streams thanks to a string of songs that were released. The primary tune of “Hold My Love” asks your sweetheart to “Hold My Love” till I’m ready to reciprocate the feeling.

It’s like saying “I’m not ready but I will be one day, please wait for me” when you’re not. The one-of-a-kind tunes that Sofia creates draw in the audience, and the production by Discrete gets your toes tapping and your body moving.

I wanted to invite all the different parts of my new city into this EP, the darkness, the fun, the love but mainly the diversity. It’s such a weird and unique city with plenty room for everyone to be themselves in and I hope that this collection of songs can give you just that feeling, that there’s something for everyone, and that you’re all welcome into my world.
