The Voice of Baceprot (VOB) made its worldwide debut in the second half of 2021. They became viral after releasing their tune “God, Allow Me (Please) to Play Music” and embarking on their Fight Dream Believe European Tour 2021, which took them to eight cities throughout Europe. Critical praise and eager anticipation for more new songs followed in North America.
The Indonesian rock band from Garut, West Java, “[NOT] PUBLIC PROPERTY,” is back with a new single and expects to make even more waves. After working with Abah Erza, their band’s mentor and former instructor, on their previous songs, VOB decided to try their hand at writing their own material.
Marsya (vocals/guitar), Sitti (drums/vocals), and Widi (bass/vocals) express their concerns about the violations of women’s rights they have witnessed around the world in “[NOT] PUBLIC PROPERTY.” Even though these rights are fundamental to a person’s self-determination and independence, they are often overlooked – especially in the case of women. There are many examples of the erosion of bodily autonomy in our society, including increasing domestic violence, female circumcision, abortion restrictions, human trafficking, and pornographic exploitation.
Tue Madsen, a Danish producer and sound engineer whose client list includes Meshuggah, Suicide Silence, Mnemic, and Sick Of It All, mixed “[NOT] PUBLIC PROPERTY”. It was Howie Weinberg, an American audio mastering engineer responsible for more than 2,000 mastering credits, 20 Grammy Awards, and numerous other honours, who did the actual mastering.
Listen to this masterpiece from the Voice of Baceprotvand tell me you don’t want to hear it again and again.
