Another year has passed, and that means it’s time for the Comedy and Poetry Awards once again. This is the third version, and with each new edition, it just keeps getting better and better.
The Ghanaian entertainment sector, which is responsible for putting the country’s name on the map of the world, benefits from the contributions made by the comedy and poetry industries. The groundwork has been laid by artists such as OB Amponsah, DKB, Rhyme Sonny, and Clemento Suarez, amongst others, and now it is time to take things to the next level.
The recipients of these prizes will be honoured for their contributions to Ghana’s comedy and poetry industries respectively. The call for nominations for the current iteration of the competition has officially been launched.
It began on the 18th of July, and it is scheduled to end on the 5th of August, 2022, in an official capacity. There are a total of 30 categories up for grabs at this year’s awards, with 22 being allocated to the comedy industry and 8 being allocated to the poetry and spoken word business.
The following methods may be used in order to submit a nomination: electronically, by sending an email to the official COPO email address comedyandpoetryawards@
All artists are strongly encouraged to submit their submissions in the hopes of being considered for nominations for the next event.
The period of time from July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022, is being considered for these prizes this year. When he was speaking with the CEO of the CoPo Awards, Dennis Boateng, he pressed on the goals of the awards, which include promoting the arts of poetry and comedy, honouring and celebrating stakeholders in the comedy and poetry industry, promoting, projecting, and protecting the craft of comedy and poetry, and honouring and celebrating individuals who have made significant contributions to the comedy and poetry industries. Expand the craft on a worldwide scale; this is a trip that must be taken one step at a time, and we are putting in the necessary work to ensure its success.
When the board is finished collecting submissions from the filing process, the final list of nominees will be published. We will keep you posted.
