Munboi Returns With Fully Packed Summer Bop Single ‘Lost & Found’

Musician and producer Munboi is from the United Kingdom. He is also an audio engineer. Musicians’ vibes are all about adaptability and expressing real feelings that people may relate to in a variety of genres.

Cut to the chase: we got down with him for an in-depth discussion during which he spoke more about his musical career and premiered his new single “Lost And Found.”

What is your real and official showbiz name?
So my real name is Brandon but I go by MUNBOI

How long have you been making music and what attracted you to it?
I’ve had an obsession with music since I was little and my dad bought me a Numark Axis 9 mixer and I started Dj’ing Garage and Jungle then it grew into writing lyrics and spitting 16s in my friend’s garden sheds then I fell into production and have been making songs for almost 8 years.

What attracted me to music was the community it gave at my parent’s parties and the sense of being together Jammin in space for no other reason but to just be and Boogey, while picking up nuggets of knowledge from the artist’s journeys. Nothing better than lyrical wisdom!!

What were your first project and the people you worked with and which year?
The first real produced project with a video, I worked on was like 7 years ago with a collective called E-Quality with my homies Georgie, Kyle and Olaf and this was like 2015.

Who or what inspires you or motivates you? And why?
What inspires me is that I have people come up to me at random in my town saying that one of my tunes resonated with them and that listening to my music can make them have a better day and I hope it inspires other people to keep pushing forward to stay motivated through the ups and downs. Also my friends and family keep me motivated to keep pushing myself even when times are tough.

What are your friend’s and parents’ thoughts on your career in singing?
At first, my parents weren’t too keen on me following a creative path as it can be very hardwearing in a cutthroat industry. Where if you’re not careful people will try to take what they can at every turn.

Although my Dad has been a passive supporter he has always been a serious motivator by telling me to follow my passion, drop the steady job I was in and educate myself at music uni. They’re now my biggest fans even if they won’t admit it, sometimes around the house, I can’t escape myself XD.

My friends have always been very supportive of me they are all total G’s and will have my back till I’m crispier than a Pringle and they don’t have any BS with me, just straight-up honesty if they don’t like a song they let me know it and I love that.

What are some of the challenges you face in your career path?
Many challenges I face come from an overlooking sense of isolation where I keep myself locked up in a studio to complete projects and maybe sometimes neglect life moments that I should be enjoying.

You have to go easy on yourself as it only leads to more pressure. Self-worth is a massive thing in this industry, if you don’t believe in yourself then you won’t have the motivation to carry out your goals it’s tough not to look a fellow peers and judge ourselves against them but we just need to appreciate the journey which I’m only figuring out now. Sometimes things take time.

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
I feel like the internet has made the music business bigger than ever and has shined more light on many problems from labels changing their ways from exposing artists to how professionals in the music industry should be treated and paid. It also has bought people together as the music is the culture and we can connect with one click

Do you have any advice for aspiring songwriters?
If you’re new to the music business I would say draw a ladder write your goals at the top and write out each step on how you can reach those goals. If you don’t know those steps then research them see what other artists like you do from production to marketing see how it worked for others and also build a reliable team of friends around you that will support you in every move!!

What is your current project about?
So Lost & Found is the single off of my upcoming album Eudaimonia. This is about coming to terms with where you are in life and appreciating the journey so far reflecting upon emotions that have been and gone and the knowledge in life that serves you today each song is a different take on a different emotion. Lost & Found is my happy place.

What does this song/album mean to you?
The album to me represents growth a new chapter in the book of MUNBOI allowing me to reach the next level in music production and explore my own creativity it’s a musical embodiment of myself. As I self produce, mix and master every track.

What are your hobbies?
Asides from music, I love hanging out with the homies playing video games, doing creative projects and paddle-boarding to keep my busy mind at bay. I also enjoy martial arts as I grew up kickboxing and watching Kung Fu films

What do you do aside from this profession?
My profession is the sound engineer for recording, mixing and mastering for different artists as well as a tutor teaching music production to disadvantaged kids

What is one message you would give to your fans?
To everybody who has listened so far and keeps supporting, I love you! You dudes are incredible and keep me going on my own journey even when I feel like the journey has come to an end. I hope that you all are good and if anyone feels alone just reach out
