Meet Karoli Naa; A Ghanaian-Canadian Based Rapper
Like I always say, rap in Ghana has taken a new trend and both genders keep doing the most when it comes to Hiphop.
In a male dominated industry like Ghana has, female rappers are mostly overlooked which is rather unfortunate.
There are just a few known female rappers and this article right here is to introduce you to another brilliant one.
She goes by the stage name Karoli Naa and she is a Ghanaian born but based in Canada currently.
Real name Caroline Naa Adjorkor Kwaofio, is one of Montreal’s newest and most promising rap stars.
Montreal has been her city since 1994, Karoli Naa fell in love with rap music at an early age and it simply commendable.
She took inspiration from rap music’s greatest figures like 2Pac where it became her dream to bring her rhymes to the world.
Karoli Naa recorded and released her celebrated first mixtape, “Explicit World” way back in 2014.
After a year, “Dolly,” “In My Spaceship,” and “Love Karoli Naa” were receiving spins on Montreal’s top radio stations.
In 2015, she released her first radio single & second street single along with music videos to ‘’Juicy‘’ & ‘’Bars To Go‘’.
These two were off her Ep “Heavy Rotation‘’ gaining music industry elites eyes and ears with every release she puts out.
She has also performed at clubs in Montreal and Toronto and Karoli Naa is on her way to the top.
For Karoli Naa, writing, rapping, and music are more than just the air she breathes, food she eats. They are her soul!
