Leah Harris is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Windsor, Ontario, about an hour outside of Detroit.
D’Angelo, Amy Winehouse, Prince, and Alicia Keys are some of her musical heroes. Spotify’s Discover Weekly and over 800 other playlists have included Leah’s original tracks, while Montell Jordan, Kabir Sehgal, and Valerie Simpson have all publicly backed her work.
“Shine” is a soul/r & b song with a contemporary touch on classic soul and 90s r & b. The song’s lyrics are based on the adventures of individuals who are following non-traditional goals in their lives.
If you’re an entrepreneur or other creative type, you know what it’s like to get up every day and go after something you’re passionate about. “Shine” aims to encourage and empower listeners to pursue their dreams.
With producer Sal Oliveri, widely known for his work on P!nk and Chris Stapleton’s GRAMMY-nominated compositions, “Shine” was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee.
The song’s only songwriter, Leah, also performs on keyboards and sings to the tune. This album’s soundtrack is influenced by Leah’s childhood in a Motown neighbourhood outside Detroit, as well as her time living in Stockholm, Dublin, and Helsinki.
