Kumasi Artistes Roar At Kwesi Arthur Over Social Media Mockery
A section of critics and musicians in Kumasi have taken a swipe at Tema based singer/rapper Kwesi Arthur over his recent social media update.
Kwesi Arthur in a recent update on social media; Twitter and Facebook, requested for local artiste in Kumasi to record a video showing what they lyrically posses before getting a platform for an upcoming event didn’t enthuse many.
“We are looking for local talent!! ANY ACTS IN KUMASI THAT WANT TO BE ON THE BILL…. simply upload a video of you doing your thing and tag us” – Kwesi Arthur.

The use of local talent and submission of video recording before getting billed has got emotions rising and been interpreted by persons of interest as a total disrespect to Kumasi based musicians since most names are apparently in the same category as Kwesi Arthur.
“Local” as a jargon in Kumasi belittles one’s intelligence, and for an artist to upload a video of himself to prove worthy of a platform by same category act has been termed an audition, implying an insult.
Take a look at some rebuttals as captured on Facebook.
