What is your real name?
My real name is Patrice Pennont
What’s your official Stage Name (showbiz name)?
My official Stage Name is also Patrice Pennont but for the moment because it’s evolving
Follow him on: Instagram.
What do you do (fashion, music, comedy, artist, dancer, etc.)?
I’m currently a singer but I’m also an actor
How did you get into what you do (music, modelling, art, dance, etc.?)
I get into music because I love the arts, I try to find a way to express myself through it. At first I began as an actor for little prods and extra for bigger prods I was also an assistant director for web series. I also did a bit of contemporary arts and I always liked to be on stage as I also was a radio host when I was at high school. I’ve started to write songs since primary school but it became more consistent in 2017 when I felt that I could really release them and that’s what I did with my first single “Willy” in 2020.
What field or genre are you into, and give a brief description of what your career/profession/ field feels like?
I’m into contemporary styles like pop. Urban/indie pop and as I’m self produced I have to work a lot because I’m the singer but also the writer, co composer, producer and co director for my music videos.
Who or what inspires you or motivates you? And why?
A lot of artists inspired me such as Cher when I was younger with the song “Believe” that led me to write my own. I also like Marina (& The Diamonds) that works a lot with the meanings that she wants to put in her art.
I also like to be inspired by the AirFrance Music On Air playlist as I like getting people to travel. I like Connan Mockasin, Dillon, Allah Las etc…. I’m inspired by people that began younger like Miley Cyrus And I’m also inspired by more Frenchies artists like Matt Pokora, Claire Laffut (which is Belgium), Tayc, Dadju. I admire their careers and arts for many reasons.
Also “Fyfe”, that is an artist that I love because of the vibe that he has and some texts that leads you to go be a better version of yourself (also discovered him when I was travelling)
What was your first project and the people you worked with, and which year?
My first project was my single “Willy” inspired by a personal story of ghosting, it was a way to create a way to bounce back despite obstacles in life and have a joyful song that you can dance on about a love story that turned short
How many projects do you have so far?
After “Willy” I had a remix, then “Même Soleil” and I began a new era started by “Delta” that also allowed me to produce my first music video.
My last song is called “Ton Mieux” and the music video will be available the 22nd of April. I talk about the fact that we have to do more than do our best but give our best to pursue our ambitions and realise our dreams. The music video illustrates that.
How long have you been doing what you do?
Since everytime I’m an artist, I started when I was in primary school and yes it became more concrete 2 years ago
What do you look out for in this line of business?
It will be my pleasure to know that people will be concerned by my music, that they identify themselves and enjoy themselves by dancing to it. I’d like to deliver universal messages that allow people to overcome obstacles and enjoy themselves.
Have you won any awards or been nominated for an award? Or, in short, any achievement? Both in and out of your career path.
What is this new release about?
“Ton Mieux” is about inviting listeners to go further and “give” of their best to achieve their goals and realize their dreams. Through this song, Patrice wishes to deliver a message that everyone can appreciate in order to flourish and be better. In this song, Patrice talks about his own journey of a self-produced artist wanting to enter the world of music, often mysterious even enigmatic. He also evokes his sense of effort and work as well as overseas influences and the trade winds that carry it.
Who and how many people worked on it?
I worked on it with Camille Bertrand who has worked with me since Delta and for the music video we were a team of 7 people and the director of the location that hosted us.
What can your previous and new audiences anticipate from you in the future?
In the next future I’ll release a new song based on the fact that we’re all humans, it’s in the continuation of what I defend. I expect to release an EP really soon and if I get supported with an album 🙂 !!
