Kay Spunky Rebrands to NAKAE, releases new song ‘WHY’
After featuring in countless songs especially on both former hitmaker champ Koo Ntakra’s ‘Akuaba and KOK’ albums, sensational Akwapem singer Kay Spunkym known for his silky vocals on notable movie soundtracks has rebranded with new name ‘NAKAE’ as well as new brand look.
“So a lot of people have been asking why the change of name? If you have been a follower, you will notice I have been quiet for a while now after I dropped the last single “You”.
This was because I felt there was a need to make a few changes and drop back to take lessons from the industry players doing very well and also research into the market trends and taste of Ghana music patrons.
Therefore after I carefully thought through decisions and decided to drop Kay Spunky and choose a name that identifies me originally and that is my name Nana Kwame. To add a little spice to Nana Kwame, I shortened it to “Na’Kae”.
“The change of name defines my maturity now and how ready I am to make music that satisfies your entertainment expectations and penetrate into the local and even international market”, Nakae added in his interview.
“ ‘NaKae’ is a new brand reinvented from Kay Spunky. I would want you to give your full support to this new name as you did formerly. I am grateful for the love you have shown me since this journey began and I pray that may that love continue and be made stronger even in this new phase”, he entreated all in his last words.
