About Karen Harding
Karen Harding returns with the first single release and title track from her upcoming EP, ‘I’ve Got A Secret,’ following the release of her previous six singles. Karen has always loved music, beginning piano lessons at the age of six and singing classes at the age of fourteen. Karen Harding’s captivating vocals can be compared to the expressive tones of Sarah McLaughlin, Sara Bareilles, or Eva Cassidy, as well as the more pop-oriented vibes of Gabrielle Aplin, Adele, and Ella Henderson.
She has performed in a variety of cafés and pubs in Melbourne’s north-eastern suburbs, Australia, in solo, duet, and band settings, all of which have led to the sound you hear today. The four-track EP, ‘I’ve Got A Secret,’ will be released one song at a time, one month at a time, until it is completed in October 2022.
In the last few years, Karen has been continuously growing her popularity and name recognition. With six single releases under her belt, she is expanding her repertoire. She won the Bendigo Bank sponsored Independent Songwriter Talent Show in 2021. Nominated for Best International Artist on Crags Radio Independent Artist Awards in 2022. And impressively amassing numbers on popular streaming platforms.
About The Release “I’ve Got A Secret”
Written during the Melbourne, Australia Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns, dramatic singer-songwriter single, ‘I’ve Got A Secret’ dives straight into the heart of fear and anxiety, when sharing a less than perfect side that you know leaves you open to judgement from others. It talks about perfect images abound in today’s media-saturated culture. To be good enough, we believe we must conform to messaging that only shows a person’s best moments. As a result, we begin to hide our own weaknesses. That is, unless you come to the realisation that you are the only one going through this. In the face of this, we are filled with fear, doubt, and scepticism.
‘I’ve Got A Secret’ leaves a lasting impression on everyone it touches. Through hard labour, ethics, and imagination, Karen Harding has developed her reputation rather than relying on gimmickry and cookie-cutter “world music”. We may expect her successful run to continue after her most recent release reveals that her skills have not waned.
