Jhiido Releases The Perfect Summer Song For Sonority ‘Dangerous’

Jhiido (aka Jax Butterfield) is a Florida based singer and songwriter and producer. He has etched his band name into every household with his dexterity, ethereal energy along with uplifting vocals.

Just as we always do, we had a closeup chat with him where he discussed his music career and most recent single with us.

What would you say is your greatest strength as an artist?
I feel that my greatest strength as an artist is versatility. I do just about everything when it comes to my music. I am a singer, songwriter, producer, and engineer all in one. It’s a very powerful tool to be able to do (mostly) everything yourself. Everything moves at my own speed.

What is your creative process when making music?
Most of my ideas for my music come to me when I’m driving. If you were to take a look at my Snapchat memories you would see so many embarrassing videos of me in my car humming melodies or singing potential lyrics that I think sound like they could expand off of and create a cohesive song.

Usually, that is how my songs get started. I put words to those melodies or build off of my ideas. Oddly enough I actually usually start off by recording vocals. I do it without quantization and then find a good tempo and re-record to that tempo and then form a beat around the vocals and then add cool little effects.

What is the biggest challenge you have had to overcome as a band/artist so far?
I think the biggest challenge so far that I have had to overcome is trying to market and promote my music. I have gotten better at it as of late and figured out strategies that work pretty decently, but it’s definitely stressful.

How do you think social media or the internet has affected the music scene in your country?
I feel as if the music scene is so broad in the US that I can’t really answer this question very effectively.

What are your friend’s and parents’ thoughts on your career?
My good friend Sergio told me before that I just need to keep pumping out more music and success will come with time. Sergio is definitely right, I need to be more consistent with my schedule but it takes a long time to put a release out when you’re the person doing most of the heavy lifting.

My family is supportive of me making music but as of now I am a student at University so of course that’s gotta be my priority, but music is always a part of my everyday life. Overall my circle of friends that support me tell me that success will happen, and I’m hoping that that is true.

Do you have any favourable quotes from previous reviews of the band that you’d be happy to share?
“Jhiido has an ability to turn conventional electronic pop into something so much deeper, something altogether hypnotic and lustrous.”

What does your current song mean to you?
I love DANGEROUS. It’s currently my favourite song of mine. It’s so fun and it was super fun to make as well.

Overall it is a feel-good song that I feel can reach a lot of people. Shoutout to Kid Gemini for starting this project and bringing inspiration and working with me. Shout out to Slick for the awesome production!

What is one message you would give to your fans?
A message I would give to my fans is that “Just be patient.”
