What do you do (fashion, music, comedy, artist, dancer, etc.)?

Musician – singer/songwriter

How did you get into what you do (music, modelling, art, dance, etc.?)

I first got into music via my brother, he had a massive cd collection that I basically made my way through as a teenager. But it was a Nirvana cassette tape that he was given by one of his close friends that really turned me on to music. Hearing that cassette for the first time honestly changed my life.

The first instrument I learnt was actually the drums, I got into my first band around the age of 14, we were a high school rock ‘n’ roll/punk band, it was easily the highlight of school as far as I was concerned, I couldn’t wait for band practice.

What field or genre are you into and give a brief description of what your career/profession/ field feels like?

The single/album that I’ve just done was all acoustic, I guess you could say it falls into the pop/folk category but I prefer to just call it music, I don’t really care for genres in all honesty, a good song is a good song. I guess when I was younger, I identified more as a punk, alternative, grunge, metal kid, but if you spend your whole life listening to only one or a few styles of music, you are denying yourself so much great stuff.

Who or what inspires you or motivates you? And why?

Friends, Family, other artists and musicians, everyday life, just take a walk outside, inspiration is all around you and I’ve definitely been inspired by other musicians I’ve worked with over the years.

How many projects do you have so far?

This is currently my only project.

How long have you been doing what you do?

This current project I’ve been doing since around 2020, that’s when I first started writing the album which was then released in 2021. But music in general I’ve been playing since I was about 14 and I haven’t stopped since.

Have you won any awards or been nominated for an award? Or in short, any achievement both in and out of your career path?

I haven’t won any awards, no, in my humble opinion music isn’t about awards, I mean if someone wants to give you one then great. But it isn’t and should never be the reason why you do it. The thing I’m most proud of is playing Glastonbury in 2017 with You Dirty Blue.

What is this new release about?

I’ll Crawl was written during lockdown, it’s a song essentially about looking forward, it’s about being part of the solution rather than the problem. The chorus was inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.

Who and how many people worked on it?

I’ll Crawl was solely written, performed and mixed by myself. It was mastered by my good friend Andrew Monckton of Silver Tail Mastering and the artwork was done by my old high school art teacher Peter Valentine.

What can your previous and new audiences anticipate from you in the future?

A load more new music, more live shows – including a festival date at Phest in August, and hopefully a tour around the corner.

Young and vibrant man I am, God fearing, warm at heart. Music is bae food is life. If you've seen this then you know me!!!
