feeble is a Sweden, Gothenburg based musician, composer and producer who is well versed in the arts of pop sounds. feeble has just released an original single titled “For You”. We had a few questions and answers with him. Below are exclusive details on feeble and his new release.
What’s your official stage name and why did you choose it?
The band, artist, name is feeble (with a small f). The project was named in the 1990th as a trip hop band highly influenced by artists such as Portishead, Massive Attack, Morcheeba.
How would you describe the music you typically create?
I believe music is all about emotions. If you can’t express emotion in music, it’s just a stack of notes. I try to tell a story and the vocals, instruments, and mixing are just tools for bringing emotion to that story. For you is, unconventional for me, a love song. It’s about the struggle of true love. Usually, my lyrics are sad. But this is as happy as it gets in my song writing.
What is it about music that makes you feel passionate?
To do what I love. and I love what I do.
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?
I love football and I am the coach for my son’s team. My son is 8 years old.
What feelings or reactions do you hope to arouse in people who listen to your music? Are you surprised by the reactions you get?
I want the people who listen to my music to feel the emotions I try to express. I am surprised how often that is the case. People are really good at catching the emotions in my music.
How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
The Internet makes it possible to share music in a new way but also to create music together with artists all over the world. Different collaborations have enhanced music in a way that was impossible before.
What has been the high point of your career so far?
I would say that my high point was when I passed 1000 streams on Spotify with my first single. That was huge to me because that meant that it was not only my mum and my friends who listened to it. Other high points happen every day, when I discovered add9 chords, or drop 2 and 3 chords, a new way to sing the word love, how to use a capo, my first song released on Spotify, my latest released on Spotify, being saved on a personal playlist, getting my music on Deezer…
For those thinking about turning a passion for music into a career, could you give any advice?
Wisdom from Phoebe Bridgers: The people who “make it” in the music industry are the people who keep making music. So, keep making music and keep doing what you love to do. Don’t try to be somebody else. be yourself and be true to your sound.
What is this new release about?
For You is a love song and that you are willing to do anything for the one you love. But it is also about not bothering about problems before they appear. However, when they do you are willing to face whatever, it is you are facing for love. The song was written during spring 2022 and is highly inspired by the work of Ethan Gruska (taken from the press release).
Who and how many people worked on it?
feeble is a one-man project and that usually means that I do everything including mixing and mastering. I also made the cover art and the music video.
What are you working on next? Any future plans or projects in the pipeline that we should look out for?
My next single, I’m Done, is released 24 June.
If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
