Emma Elizabeth hails from Pinner, United Kingdom but currently resides in Barcelona. She’s a singer, songwriter and producer who is well versed in the arts of pop. Emma has just released an original single titled “A World Away – Live Acoustic”. We had a few questions and answers with her. Below are exclusive details on Emma Elizabeth and her new release.
What is your real name?
Well, my stage name is my real name but it’s my first name and my first middle name. My second middle name is Rhiannon
What’s your official Stage Name (showbiz name)?
What do you do (fashion, music, comedy, artist, dancer, etc.)?
I’m a singer, songwriter and producer.
How did you get into what you do (music, modelling, art, dance, etc.?)
I began writing poems as a child with a magnetic poetry kit on the fridge door. After a few years of just writing poetry a friend showed me how to play some chords on the guitar and lent me her guitar. That was when I wrote my first song.
What field or genre are you into and give a brief description of what your career/profession/ field feels like?
At the moment my music is in the process of evolving into something new. Having previously focused the core of all my songs being vocals and guitar, I have found myself exploring more into the electronic and experimental genres. My upcoming album is the result of this exploration and I’m really excited to explore the options of how to perform these new songs live!
Who or what inspires you or motivates you? And why?
I love to write and make music. Ever since that day that I wrote my first song on my friend’s guitar it’s been the first thing I go to when I am feeling any type of strong emotions good or bad. It’s the ideal way for me to express myself and process my feelings.
What was your first project and the people you worked with and which year?
So, my very first musical project was an EP called ‘The Coldness Winter’. Which was released in 2012. I recorded it with the cousin of a friend and I filmed and edited all the music videos myself. I didn’t really have a clue what I was doing but it was a lot of fun!
How many projects do you have so far?
Hmm, not including my first release as that isn’t available anymore. 1 EP from 2013 and 9 singles but 4 of them are live acoustic versions of songs.
How long have you been doing what you do?
From the first release 10 years, but I took 5 years break at one point so really, I would say this new project began January 2021 so a bit over a year.
What do you look out for in this line of business?
Working with the right people. It’s so important to be surrounded by positive, supportive and creative thinking people who are open to new ideas and challenges. My favourite thing during the last year has been learning from all of the people / musicians I have worked with.
What is this new release about?
My recent release is a live acoustic version of one of the songs that will be on my album! The song is about those moments in a relationship where you aren’t quite ready to fully open up and sometimes the way you act doesn’t always express properly the way you really feel.
Who and how many people worked on it?
Well, it was recorded and filmed live at Sol de Sants Studios which is also where I have been recording my album. My good friend Jeff Santana played the classical guitar and it was recorded by my producer Theo Monteiller.
What can your previous and new audiences anticipate from you in the future
Well, the release of the album should be around October / November time and before that I have 3 singles I will release, each with a music video! I’m also planning to have a headline show to celebrate the album being released!
