Electric High Returns With Their Brand New EP “Walls Fall Down”

Electric High is a Norwegian hard rock five-piece band. Fronted by two lead singers, this band is all about pure electric hard rock power!

It’s the year 2019, and five experienced rock musicians converge for the purpose of formulating a new rock band at a bar in Bergen, Norland.

Electric high has released eleven singles and two extended plays, as well as written enough material to fill two full-length albums, as of January 2020, the band says.

The band revealed more about themselves during this interview as well as promoting their most recent EP “Walls Fall Down”.

What is your real name?
Electric High is Olav Iversen, Einride Torvik, Tor Helge Opdahl, Marius Mørch and Per Vidar Staff

What’s your official Showbiz name?
Olav, Ein, Tossa, Marius and PV

How did you get into music?
It’s been our main interest since we were kids. And it still is.

What field or genre are you into and how would you describe it?
We are a rock band. Our songs would be classified as Alternativ Rock, Classic Rock, Hard Rock and even Indie Rock.

What were your first project and the people you worked with and which year?
Electric High has only existed since 2019, so our first release was the single/video Harder To Justify January 2020. Recorded in Solslottet Lydstudio, by Iver Sandøy.

Who or what inspires you or motivates you? And why?
We get inspired by bands who play and make awesome music. Our favourites would be 70-classics like Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, Free and Led Zeppelin. But also newer stuff like Wolfmother, White Stripes, Reignwolf and Royal Blood.

What are some of the challenges you face in your career path?
The challenge is always: how to get heard and reach the audience. There are so many wolfs out there, wanting your money….offering you shitty deals. So we try to avoid the crap some companies sell and find our best way around.

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
The internet has for sure become the big thing in promoting and selling music. But we still believe there is room for some kind of physical release as well. As vinyl and CDs are still selling.

Do you have any advice for aspiring songwriters?
Make the music YOU like, and not what you think others would dig. If you are not honest to yourself, the audience will look right through you.

What is your current project about?
Our new release is “Walls Fall Down”. It’s a five-piece EP, stretching from Classic Rock to Alternativ Rock. The main song, Walls Fall Down, is about tearing down all walls in people’s minds, to open up about racism, sexuality and other differences.

What are your hobbies?
Oh, we all got kids. So we guess there is no time for hobbies……just music and kids, for now. Maybe in the future.

What do you do aside from this profession?
Some in the band have other professions as well.
Olav: Graphic Designs
Tossa: Drum teacher / Music Teacher
Ein: Working in an Art Gallery
Marius: Taking care of Public Buildings
Pv: Full-time musician

What is one message you would give to your fans?
Check out Electric High and our new release Walls Fall Down!. And have the most amazing and rocking summer!!
