Diedrick is a British singer and songwriter in the modern R&B genre. Diedrick presents a contemporary narrative that is both approachable and authentic, using a deep, gentle, calming voice to express melancholy stories about his life’s lessons of love, grief, faith, desire, and tenacity.
Having been born in London, Diedrick grew up in the East Midlands town of Derby, where he spent most of his youth. Throughout his childhood, Diedrick listened to music with his mother and performed in school plays, which sparked his interest in singing.
After some time, he developed a strong affinity for vintage R&B and Soul performers like Usher, Mariah Carey, Chris Brown, and Mario, and finally discovered their work, as well as that of all the other great R&B and Soul artists of the 1990s and early 2000s.
They include Leon Bridges, Frank Ocean, Summer Walker and many more performers in the Alternative RnB/Soul genre.
Diedrick’s smooth, deep, and quiet voice tones are woven throughout the song to create a warm, but delicate, atmosphere.
“Better” recounts the painful, tough, and poignant journey of two people who fall in and out of love.
