Rising artist Danny Polo has established himself as a driving force not only behind R&B in Music City but also behind the fight against COVID-19. He has been working on the frontlines as a nurse by day while making a name for himself as a rising R&B star in Nashville during his time off. Polo has received support from BBC One and iHeartRadio who raved, “Singers of today, I know, carry on the legacy of the greatest entertainers of the past, and I believe Danny Polo is up next.”
With a heavy dose of soul, musicality, and nostalgia, Danny Polo is spiritual; but it’s not what you think. A classical pianist at heart, his love for music began within the walls of the churches he grew up performing in. It was after this that he leaned into Gospel influences like Smokey Norful and took in the sounds of the genre. After moving to Chattanooga, Tennessee, Polo discovered that his love for music extended outside of the Church as he found more contemporary influences such as Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars, and Tom Misch.
It was under their influence that Polo began to carve out his sleek, addictive R&B sound, fusing vocal prowess with lyrics that feel both relatable and poetic. Now based in Nashville, Polo has established himself as a driving force within Music City’s R&B scene. His debut album, “Just A Painting,” was released in 2020 and served upbeat danceable tracks with a deep and contemplative core. Polo didn’t stop there, releasing multiple singles (Queen Of The Bronx, Roadblock, Truth) and high profile collaborations (Flights With You) throughout 2020 and 2021 to his rapidly-growing fanbase. Danny is set to release some of his best work over the next year and is on track to become a leading voice in R&B for years to come.
His most recent creation comes in the form of “Prada,” a collaboration with 16-year-old Canadian producer CUBE and platinum songwriter Landon Sears. The happy hit captures the essence of what Polo describes as, “good times with a great girl.” Sears, who has previously collaborated with R&B hitmakers like Bren Joy and written for K-pop superstars like CIX and Kang Daniel, has received press from Lyrical Lemonade, Revolt TV, and more.
Both Polo and Sears are set to release some of their best work over the next year and are on track to become leading voices in R&B for years to come.
