Christine Corless And Snake Doctors Join Forces On Too Many

The third single from the fourth double Snakedoctors album, “Four and a Half,” is titled “Too Many which features Christine Corless. Two versions of this song exist. A version that was mixed at Abbey Road Studios and mastered in Metropolis Studios may be found on the red CD, which is more on the new wave side. The grungy black album is where the single version is taken from.

Dawid Gorgolewski mixed and mastered that version at the Gdask-based Osso Studio. It shows Christine Corless, an American artist. Since the summer of last year, it has been performed live and is one of the band’s all-time favorites. It is a song about potentially challenging life circumstances. In keeping with grunge. That sinister tune is much nicer in the version with Christine.

Together with the song, there is a video. It was produced in Gdansk, Poland, and Ukraine. With skilled Helen Thomson, who is from that region of Ukraine, most of the scenes were shot close to Zhytomyr. It also contains a few scenes from Snakedoctors live performances.

this and more stories were captured in a recent interview between Snakedoctors and Mister Styx of Musicarenagh, lots of revelations were made about their early stages of life and their musical journey

What is your stage name
It’s Snakedoctors. The one located in Poland.

Is there a story behind your stage name?
Snakedoctors are basically dragonflies in the South. Wojciech (our guitar player and a vocalist) used to play in bands in the South his college years

Where do you find inspiration?

Anything around inspires us. And we create spontaneously. We just get together and songs come up.

What was the role of music in the early years of your life?
We’re all brought up on music. Anything we listened to in the early years made us what we are. Anything from the Beatles, Stones, Hendrix thru hard rock, new wave, new romantic and grunge.

Are you from a musical or artistic family?

Not to any serious or professional extent.

Who inspired you to be a part of the music industry?

Monty Python and their musical skills.

How did you learn to sing/write/to play?

Some of us did some music classes in early childhood. Some self-taught themselves.

What was the first concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?
It’s four of us so too much to talk about. But it’s Polish rock in the 80’s.

How could you describe your music?

We agree with one of the recent reviews in the most important music magazine in Poland – it’s the unique style standing for a blend of a few styles like rock, grunge, and new wave.

Describe your creative process.

Wojciech comes into the studio where we practice on a regular basis and brings new songs nearly every practice, we play them and basically, that’s it.

What is your main inspiration?

Anything around

What musician do you admire most and why?

That would be a few as there are four of us in a band – Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Depeche Mode, Joy Division, Queen and Killing Joke to name a few.

Did your style evolve since the beginning of your career?

Stays solid. We experiment a bit but still within genres we like.

Who do you see as your main competitor?
Taylor Swift
and AC DC (laugh). Seriously – we’re not in any competition. We play music for fun.

What are your interests outside of music?

More music, football, motorbikes, history, going out, parties…

If it wasn’t a music career, what would you be doing?

We would pursue our careers as brain surgeons, nuclear physicists, formula 1 drivers and… seriously – more or less we would be doing what we do now.

What is the biggest problem you have encountered in the journey of music?
The world of music is run by big labels that decide on most of what is going around.

If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?
Free it from… you know what.

What are your plans for the coming months?

More new songs, gigs and albums.

Do you have any artistic collaboration plans?
We collaborate with other artists on regular basis. On two previous albums, it’s as many as five artists we invited already. Now working with two more. Recent collabs include: Christine Corless, Ada Nike and talented Ukrainian artist Victory Vizhanska.

What message would you like to give to your fans?

Play music if you like it. Send it to as many places as you can. It’s pure statistics – someone will pick it up.
