Boyu Demonstrates Great Art On “Embers Of Our Innocence”
LA-based indie-pop/rap singer and songwriter, Boju has finally dropped his newest single dubbed Embers Of Our Innocence”.
This calm alt-indie-pop song was inspired by prior failed relationships that rested on the temporality of modern dating and apparently unlimited alternatives.
“Embers Of Our Innocence” was written in his bedroom studio in Spring of 21 and listeners may sense an overpowering flow of nostalgia for their childhood, inspired by UMI, Khalid, and Joji, when pouting alone in the feels or lounging with pals at the park.
BOYU has immediately piqued the interest of industry A&R’s, Labels, and Press, such as Warner Records, We Are: The Guard, and EARMILK, by combining story-driven lyrics with beautiful voice stacks over hip-hop influenced music.
BOYU, who started out learning classical piano before moving on to drums, guitar, and digital production, rapidly became known for layering beautiful voice layers over peppy adlibs in his early mixtapes.
Despite just making his formal debut in April 2021, BOYU’s songs and videos have amassed over 300,000 streams and views, with accolades for his natural curiosity and genre-bending creativity.
Inspired by artists such as Dominic Fike, Jeremy Zucker and Blackbear, BOYU packages an overly cadence-based lyrical stream of lush layers found after several listens. It provides listeners with a syncopated experience, along with playful discoveries.
Performances at well-known events such as the 626 Night Market and Breaking Sound LA.
BOYU is already a year ahead and is healing the insatiable cravings of its fast-growing fan base with new music and videos. Listen to it below.
